Lord of War was NOT the movie I was expecting. In fact I recommend it
for some decent Saturday night video with quite the anti-arms dealing establishment overt and covert

1. That one does look very good to me.
But it's rather violent, isn't it? And the mood is black......depressing.

We'll probably get it on DVD.....

Thanks for the recommendation!

3. It's a dark topic, and there re dark moments, but they are what's
happening in the world. And it's on DVD

5. It's not as violent as you'd expect.
I mean, it's not nearly as violent as something like "Terminator". There are few on-screen acts of violence, but the ones that appear are quire frank and brutal. That movie doesn't pull any punches. I recommend it highly.

7. Yeahhhh there were a few parts.
Like during the opening of the movie, where you follow the life of the bullet. You know where it is going to end up, but it was a wee bit graphic. And the Baptiste scenes were pretty gruesome.

It has Nicolas Cage. :9

4. I second that recommendation
We rented it a few weeks ago, and were really struck by how many serious issues were touched on - it was actually sort of educational.

Also, we got a good laugh from 'Col. Oliver Southern'.

6. It was an odd movie.
I liked it, especially at the end when his life was completely fucked and he was sitting down with the interpol agent, telling the agent what was going to happen.

I liked the way they framed "big arms dealers" at the end, too.
