What was the lowest-seeded team ever to play in/win the Final Four?
Does anyone know who the lowest seeded team was to win the Final Four? Or even play in the Final Four? I've never seen an 11th seeded team like GMU reach the Final Four before. I remember last year the loweest to reach was 5th ranked Michigan St. I can't believe my eyes when I look at GMU's ranking. I didn't even think that they would make it past the first round (ironically, against Michigan St.) I'm going to root for them now in the Final Four (since my team was eliminated in the first round.) I'm hoping that Florida beat Villanova, because I don't like them either, and I want to see a Final Four without any 1 seeded teams.

2. GMU will now play Villanova
I find it ironic that the team that made the lowest-seed appearance (LSU) and the lowest-seed Final Four winner (Villanova) are both in this against GMU, who have tied LSU's 11-seed record.

3. It does seem strange, doesn't it.
If Nova pulls it off today it will be an odd season.

And you do realize that UCLA has not made the F4 since they won 11 years ago.

It just gets more interesting by the minute.

4. I didn't know that
I want to see GMU win it now, since they would become the lowest-seed team ever to win.

5. Link:
UCLA 50, Memphis 45: the Bruins make the Final Four for the first time since winning the national championship 11 years ago.

This is shaping up to be a fantastic F4!
