Dr. Thunder is better than Dr. Pepper!
I was in Walmart a month ago looking to buy a case of Dr. Pepper to satisfy my disgusting caffeine addiction. I saw a big display of Walmart's Dr. Pepper knock-off that they call Dr. Thunder. It was being sold cheap, and being unfortunately low on funds I thought I would sacrifice a little quality to save some money. My gosh, it's better than the brand-name stuff! A couple weeks later a co-worker (big DP addict) asked me why I was buying this cheap imitation, since off-brands always have some kind of bad aftertaste. I gave him a Dr. Thunder to try. The next day he comes in with a supply of two-liter bottles of Dr. Thunder.

No, I am not being compensated for this endorsement.

1. Since when does Walmart compensate people?
I just don't understand how people can shop there considering their buisiness practices and politics. I feel dirty just seeing that place.

2. I go there twice a year and feel dirty each time
I go for the old PC games from 2 years ago that have been marked down to $10. And the experience is invariably revolting: the herds of cattle ranging freely through the store, the cheap shit from China and Taiwan, and the knowledge that even my meager $20 purchase will net those evil bastards a profit.

3. I was in there twice.
Once before I knew how evil it was. However, I ended up not buying anything.

The second time, I went in there with my friend, Steph, because she needed an ATM. We were actually going to the Barnes & Nobles across the parking lot. Wow, what a difference in the customer base! So we stupidly had to walk through the whole fucking place to get to the ATM. Walking back, we pass a family of redneck breeders with a billion inbred looking children. The boy around seven loudly says, "Mommy, are you drunk again?!" Now Steph and I are a dangerous pair. She immediately cracks up into the loudest laughter ever, since she has even less self-control than me. I kept thinking, "don't look at her. Don't look at her." So I look at Steph and start rolling around laughing. She grabbed my hand and we bolted. Once we got outside, we calmed down and realized it was actually really sad.

Haven't been in a Walmart since.

4. Not better, but just as good. I was surprised because the other Wal-Mart
crap isn't any good.

You do realize you are opening yourself up for abuse for just mentioning Wal-Mart in any positive way?

developed by ex-Nazi scientists to enslave us all.

10. I agree. I also enjoy Dr. K from Kroger.
Dr. Pepper just doesn't taste right anymore.

13. I haven't tried Dr. K, but I have bought Dr. A+
Or whatever the hell it is.

Once.

Left an aftertaste...never again. That's prolly why I haven't gone the Dr. K route.

But...Dr. A+ and Dr. K HAVE to be preferable to Dr. Thunder. You don't have to go to W-World for 'em.

15. One that *is* as good, or nearly so
is Dr. Joe's, the house brand at Trader Joe's. It's a bit sweeter, and it's decaffeinated.

I drank it for awhile until I popped a Durp and realized I preferred less sweetness.

Of the medical-doctor beverages, it's (in my opinion) the brain surgeon of the lot.

Edited to add this fantastic link: http://www.fakedrpepper.com/

It's like the AMA of soda pop.
