1. Often.
I still have my desires, but I've learned to cope with them.

And more frequently than I should. I think it's tied to my pessimism.

No difference...

I doubt they paid for the sign either; gay.com usually doesn't sponsor ads that break up marriages. :7

5. Yes, especially with regards to the endless amount of laundry.
I feel like that guy from Greek mythology, Sysaphus (sp?), whose eternal torture was to roll the rock up the mountain, only to have it roll back down again, as if he'd never started.

I feel like that with the laundry every week. :eyes: It's NEVER completely done. Sigh.

I suppose it's a metaphor for the journey, the PROCESS of it all.

Whatever.

47. endless everything here
4 children. *laundry* and *done* don't even compute.
neither does *dishes* and *done*.
*cleaning* and *done*.
*errands* and *done*.

i could go on, but you get the picture. nothing is ever done.

But why bother?
Because I just imagine if I didn't!

I didn't get into this scene overnight and it won't change that way either.
But someday things will get *done* and then I'll really get in trouble. ;)

Gotta go.... things to do!

23. how come?
Lately, I keep encountering in very direct fashion the proverb that states that no good deed goes unpunished.

Oh well. I'm just a glutton for punishment I guess.

32. Hmmmm, let's see
First off, one reason I used to feel that way almost all the time was that I had undiagnosed/untreated clinical depression. Now that it's being treated, I lost a lot of the "what's the use?" feelings I had.

Another reason is that I've learned to let stuff go quicker than I used to. Not saying that things don't get to me; they do, especially the "no good deed goes unpunished" stuff. But again, it just doesnt' seen to stay with me as long.

I have a question for you. Answer or not, as you wish. But my question is, are you doing "good deeds" for the same person over and over, and it's not appreciated? Does the person continually come up with reasons to not accept your help, or get angry at you for offering help? The reason I ask is that I had gone through the same thing with one of my sisters. She would complain, complain, complain about things, I'd offer help, a sympathetic ear, etc., and she would never do anything to change things. And sometimes she would get pissed off at me, as if her situation were my fault (it wasn't). Come to find out, SHE is also clinically depressed. She's on medication now, and the difference is like night and day.

34. My biggest problem is "good deeds" for two different more diffuse
communities, but also for a couple of people, over the past couple of years. Seems like every good deed is matched with one or two, usually expensive, related problems.

I know what you went through with your sister. I've had similar experiences in the past, not so much the refusal to accept help, but more with "emotional vampirism."
