Poll question: I'm craving a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich...
Should I indulge? Inquiring minds want to know!

1. I said no
but....

If you haven't had anything too unhealthy in a while, I see no reason to deprive yourself right now. Bacon is a "sometimes" food (or more accurately, a 'rarely' food).

Everyone should eat something deliciously unhealthy now and then.

2. You just triggered a craving
The diner by my old apartment served a triple-decker grilled bacon, cheese (3 kinds of cheese!) and tomato.

I may have to wander down that way sometime this week.

10. So have one! Chuck in some 'maters, add mayo, and you got it.
Gotta live while you can.

12. Here's What You Should do
Step 1: Fry 6 strips of bacon, slow. Turn frequently. Preferably center cut bacon, but any will do. Cook slow to keep the bacon nice and flat and evenly crisp. Remove cooked bacon and place on paper towel. Do not remove bacon fat.

Step 2: Fry an egg in the bacon fat while still warm. Flip egg for at least over easy to soak up as much fat as possible. Remove and place next to bacon on clean plate, not towel. Turn heat down to low.

Step 3: Smother sides of two pieces of bread, white or wheat your choice, with spreadable butter. Place into frying pan. Place on three strips of cut cheese to your tasting, I prefer extra sharp new york cheddar but any will do. Place on 3 strips of bacon. Place egg on bacon. Place 3 remaining strips of bacon on egg. place 3 more strips of cut cheese onto the bacon. Cover with last piece of bread.

Step 4: Smoosh and Fry. Flip. Smoosh and Fry. Flip.

Step 5: Enjoy!

14. I must admit i've partaken of a few
They're oh so good and truly hit the spot for a protein fix.

I don't recomend it to people with heart problems or high cholesterol though. I'm lucky in that my cholesterol is only 124 so my wife can't raise an eyebrow about me occasionally partaking.

SOOOO good.

Personally I also like to make a nice pile of ketchup on the plate next to the sandwich for dipping, then i make a little crater in the ketchup and pour in some red devil hot sauce (any cayenne pepper variety will do) and mix it up for some hot spicy ketchup dippins...

mmmmmmmm
