I Just got screwed on E-bay
I purchased a forty dollar item from a power seller on March 2nd. The shipment still hasn't come. I just found out that last week the guy got banned, argh what am I going to do? I filed a complaint with pay pal but knowing my luck nothing we'll come of it. Oh well I guess I should have listened to Mike Brady, "Let the buyer beware."

1. E-bay is very good about getting your money back to you...
if you completed the transaction thru Ebay.

Hopefully it'll be cleared up quickly.

12. PayPal is owned by eBay...
and, yes, considering the user has been NARU'd, and it has been less than 30 days since you paid, PayPal should get you your money back pretty quickly.

Just in case I have issues with a seller, I always pay with PayPal and I always use my credit card (rather than my bank account). That way, if I can't get resolution from PayPal, I can go through my credit card company.

3. no sex threads, Danny.
I had no idea you could do that sort of thing on ebay!

If you don't get help from e-bay, perhaps PayPal can help? Good luck.

4. I hope you get your money back.
I've heard PayPal and Ebay will work together to make things right. I hope that's true. I totally thought I was about to get ripped off in the same way, because I hadn't heard from the guy and he wasn't replying to my emails or anything, but then -- BOOM -- the item showed up in the mail.

And he has been removed from ebay as well. I think the last thing is what drove me to reporting the guy.

7. Yeah, that sounds like a problem.
I think they "legally" have to ship you your stuff in a month. I think I read that in the Ebay rules when I was getting worried about my guy. There is also a forum on Ebay where other members give advice about dealing with situations like this. Sounds like you're doing all you can, though.

8. I recently filed a complaint through Paypal for a purchase I made
Edited on Tue Mar-28-06 10:26 AM by Misunderestimator
almost two months ago... four weeks after I filed the complaint (for not receiving the item, and no response from seller)... Paypal found in my favor, but they could not get the funds back to me from the seller, so they closed the case without me getting my $230. I went to American Express then, and they are currently getting the money back from Paypal. TWO MONTHS later, and I still don't have my money back.

Paypal should be more careful about who they allow to setup accounts with them. :grr:

10. I am hoping the fact that this guy is no longer registered on ebay...
will swing things in my favor. I am not a vindictive person, it's just that forty dollars is a lot two a person like me.

11. We buy a lot on ebay
Store supplies, fixtures, etc. All in all we've been burned twice.

Daisy is the one who remembers all this shit but I think you have a 30 day window to file a complaint with paypal. If the person has no funds in their paypal account though, you're screwed.

Just one of those things. Ebay only exists on the basic honesty of folks, and we've only been burned twice out of 100's of purchases.

Still make your blood boil. The dishonest sellers know that nothing will happen when they do business with someone a thousand miles away.
