Poll question: Do you still have a VCR? Do you use it?

We have been totally converted to DVD for some time now. Havent used a VCR in my house for years. Its kind of a shame because I have dozens of VHS tapes in my closet collecting dust.

Whats your staus?

1. I own too many videos

To throw it out...and I'm not rich enough to replace them all with DVD

5. My son managed a "Hollywood Video" for two years and got DVD's at cost.

They gave him many of the overstocks too, so we have about 200+ movies on DVD here.

2. I just spent the last year converting...

...all my MST3K tapes to DVD, next is all The Show With No Names. After these, no more VCR.

3. I know someone who still has Beta and videodisc collections

In fact, he has the original Star Wars trilogy in videodisc. Takes him half an hour to remember how to work the systems.

and I use the VCR some times, still.

If one of my dogs hadn't destroyed my VCR a while back, I'd still probably be DVD-less. I still use the VCR for recording; I haven't gone TiVo yet.

7. We just recently got a DVD recorder

Once I movie some of my older anime fan-subs onto DVD, I don't think I really need a VCR anymore :shrug:

8. not all the classic films I watch are easy to find on dvd

so my vcr is pretty essential. Love the DVD player though! Greatest thing ever! :)

rarely use it but it comes in handy now and again,taping stuff when i'm out.

I have many exercise segments taped together; I do an hour daily six times a week. I think this would be tough to do on DVD.

11. I use the VCR way more than the DVD. I hate the DVD. I hate society

forcing me to get one. Can you tell the whole thing pisses me off? Who is Blockbuster to start phasing out videos? Grrr.

12. I never had a VCR. I skipped right to DVD.

My parents did have a VCR when we were growing up.
