I'll ask the questions, thank you very much...
We want Information.
Information.
Information.

You won't get it!

Putting my answers here...

1. What is more important (to you, in your life): happiness or material wealth?
Happiness.

2. How do you define success?
See above -- outward success and its hallmarks (fiscal, position, career, etc) are the least of it. true success is doing somethign you love, doing it well, and making your life and the lives of others richer for having done so. Material prosperity may well follow on from that, naturally.

3. If you can possibly pick one 'dream job,' what would it be?
Natural-history TV work would be a biggie.

4. If you had to choose one place in which to live the rest of your life, where would it be?
Don't know, really. Why did I ask a question I can't answer? The place, itself, is less important than who I am with and what I am doing (and, related to both, how I am feeling and helping others feel). I know of several places I could happily live in for the rest of my life, and I've yet to discover others.

5. Do you consider yourself physically attractive? If not, what would you change, if you could?
Like most, I have things I'd fix if I could (but not to the point of actually enduring cosmetic surgery), but I'm overall happy enough with the way I look -- it's not that much an issue for me, though the way I make a living right now is based strongly on my looks. As a result of that work, people now tell me all day long how good I look, which is undeniably a boost to the self-esteem but the bottom line is that I never, ever particularly paid attention to positive or negative comments about the way I look and the compliments haven't gone to my head any more than the criticism (superficial Hollywood inlaws) did before. I've got about 20 or 30 pounds I'd like to ditch so that I'm again at my leanest sustainable and natural 'fighting weight.'

6. Can you roll your tongue?
Sure can. Thanks for asking.

7. When was the last time you kissed someone? Who was it? What kind of kiss?
The last physical kiss I had was with some unknown female...can't even remember who, because I kissed three women in the same short timespan. Occupational hazard. Cheek kisses, this time...no passion.

8. Can you swim?
Since I was a baby, dude. Grew up in the sea, basically.

9. What is the first thing that pops into your mind if I were to ask you what you were grateful for today?
A special person.

10. Do you like to walk?
I love it. I love walking long, long distances. I'll unhesitatingly walk several miles in preference to waiting for a bus or even riding my motorcycle. I've always been that way. The Forrest Gump running sequence resonated with me from the first time I saw the film, and continues to.

11. Have you ever streaked or otherwise been naked in public? (send me pictures!)
Yeah. And, no, I'm not sending you pictures.

12. Do you play a musical instrument? Which one(s)?
Guitar and voice.

13. Do you have any tattoos? If not, do you think you would ever get any?
No and no. My brother's got enough for both of us, anyway.

14. How many (of your own) bones have you broken?
Can't remember them all. My left leg, in two places, my left arm at least twice (I think), my right arm at least once (I think), a few ribs, my nose...my bones are very, very strong, though. The last bones I broke (that I know of) were my ribs, when I rode my motorcycle off a mountain on Elvis' birthday 21 years ago...coughing up blood all the way to the hospital (about 40 miles away via 4WD ambulance) but I walked home that afternoon. I went weeks once with a broken arm, without knowing it, so I may well have broken other bones since -- I've wondered about some of the injuries my feet and hands have sustained.

15. Are you a morning person or a night person?
Nocturnal, for sure.

16. Do you prefer cats or dogs, if you can even choose or like either?
Cats. I like some dogs, but I relate to cats better, appreciate their more independent nature (generally), and admire their physical grace. Dogs tend to be too codependent and energy-sapping for me -- not to mention clumsy, smelly, and dirty -- and I am turned off by their (often) subservience and the whole pack-animal thing. I don't hate dogs, I just am more feline-oriented.

17. Have you ever intentionally killed a (non-human) animal?
Yes. Mostly black widow spiders and -- though it takes alot to get me to take action against them -- ants that invade tropical and subtropical dwellings of mine. I tend to be a live-capture and release type, especially with spiders and moths but even with cockroaches (I'll squish 'em, but I often show mercy on the little f***ers and just take 'em far, far away for release).

18. Where do you see yourself -- physical location, metaphysically, career, personal life, etc -- five years from now?
No idea, in terms of externals (location, vocation, etc), but I have a very good idea in every other sense, and it's Very Good.

19. Is this about ten questions too long?
More like 19 too long.

20. Paper or plastic?
Plastic, please. I use bags over and over again. Ideally, the canvas bag would be deployed...

21. Would you like fries with that?
No, thanks...I like 'em, but I'd much prefer a chocolate shake with it.

1. All right. 21 questions!
1. What is more important (to you, in your life): happiness or material wealth?
Happiness.

2. How do you define success?
Fixing the universe in a significant way

3. If you can possibly pick one 'dream job,' what would it be?
Galaxy repairman

4. If you had to choose one place in which to live the rest of your life, where would it be?
A place called eternity!

5. Do you consider yourself physically attractive? If not, what would you change, if you could?
I don't, but others do. I would change my expiration date.

6. Can you roll your tongue?
Sure can. Thanks for asking. And wiggle my ears and nostrils!

7. When was the last time you kissed someone? Who was it? What kind of kiss?
I gave my son a kiss. He was crying. It was on top of his head. It was very paternal, I can assure you.

8. Can you swim?
Hell no. I'm not an aquatic mammal!

9. What is the first thing that pops into your mind if I were to ask you what you were grateful for today?
That I am still alive.

10. Do you like to walk?
I have to. Twice a day. The vibrations help move any kidney stone residue along.

11. Have you ever streaked or otherwise been naked in public? (send me pictures!)
Yeah. I was held prisoner during the Sexual Revolution. I streaked at my college. I went skinny dipping with about 300 people.

12. Do you play a musical instrument? Which one(s)?
No. I can't even play the air guitar correctly.

13. Do you have any tattoos? If not, do you think you would ever get any?
No. I'm not a sailor. I wouldn't get one.

14. How many (of your own) bones have you broken?
None. And no one has broken my bones. I have not broken anyone's bones. So it all works out.

15. Are you a morning person or a night person?
A morning person. I am an early riser, so to speak.

16. Do you prefer cats or dogs, if you can even choose or like either?
I have both, but I love my parrot because he is always sweet and forgiving and doesn't ever poop or pee where he shouldn't.

17. Have you ever intentionally killed an (non-human) animal?
No. I am a vegetarian. I think all life has value, yet I devour plants being the pathetic hypocrite that I am.

18. Where do you see yourself -- physical location, metaphysically, career, personal life, etc -- five years from now?
Probably still where I am. Hopefully not promoted as the next job up is too stressful.

19. Is this about ten questions too long?
No. 21 is the perfect number from Tibet and I am cool with it.

20. Paper or plastic?
Paper. It recycles better.

21. Would you like fries with that?
No, thanks...too many carbs and oils...

1. What is more important (to you, in your life): happiness or material wealth?
Happiness.

2. How do you define success?
Being able to look back at my life and decide that I'd do it all again.

3. If you can possibly pick one 'dream job,' what would it be?
Working at the EU or UN, or some such international organization.

4. If you had to choose one place in which to live the rest of your life, where would it be?
Somewhere in Europe.

5. Do you consider yourself physically attractive? If not, what would you change, if you could?
I'm not ugly; I'm not drop-dead gorgeous. I'd probably tone up my legs/thighs a bit (4 hours a week on the exercise bike doesn't seem to do it).

6. Can you roll your tongue?
Yes indeedy.

7. When was the last time you kissed someone? Who was it? What kind of kiss?
I fooled around with a guy back at the beginning of March. He was a guy I met at a convention over one weekend. It wasn't serious or anything...just harmless making out.

8. Can you swim?
Oh, yeah.

9. What is the first thing that pops into your mind if I were to ask you what you were grateful for today?
The beautiful day we're having, and the fact that summer is less than seven weeks away.

10. Do you like to walk?
Yep, as long as it's not extremely cold outside.

11. Have you ever streaked or otherwise been naked in public? (send me pictures!)
No, actually.

12. Do you play a musical instrument? Which one(s)?
The Irish penny whistle and the flute.

13. Do you have any tattoos? If not, do you think you would ever get any?
No to both.

14. How many (of your own) bones have you broken?
None.

15. Are you a morning person or a night person?
Night.

16. Do you prefer cats or dogs, if you can even choose or like either?
Ohh, I can't choose. My kitty has my heart, but a cuddly pup is hard to resist.

17. Have you ever intentionally killed a (non-human) animal?
Various insects.

18. Where do you see yourself -- physical location, metaphysically, career, personal life, etc -- five years from now?
Graduate school. Hopefully in Europe, training for a career in public and/or international service.

19. Is this about ten questions too long?
Hee. Probably. But I'm bored.

20. Paper or plastic?
Plastic.

21. Would you like fries with that?
Sure...why not? I've only had dry oatmeal to eat today. :D

4. Mine!
1. What is more important (to you, in your life): happiness or material wealth?
Happiness.

2. How do you define success?
I consider success to be waking up happy in the morning and going to sleep happy at night -- between those two times, just freaking deal.

3. If you can possibly pick one 'dream job,' what would it be?
Wildly popular, critically acclaimed author

4. If you had to choose one place in which to live the rest of your life, where would it be?
My private island.

5. Do you consider yourself physically attractive? If not, what would you change, if you could?
I think I'm about average. Maybe a bit above. Wouldn't change a thing -- OK, OK. I'd give myself rock-hard abs. But other than that, nothing.

6. Can you roll your tongue?
Yup

7. When was the last time you kissed someone? Who was it? What kind of kiss?
After we had lunch today, I gave my girlfriend a quick kiss on the lips before we parted ways.

8. Can you swim?
I grew up in Southern California a stone's throw from the beach -- what do you think?

9. What is the first thing that pops into your mind if I were to ask you what you were grateful for today?
The Dead. The word "grateful" puts me in hippie mode.

10. Do you like to walk?
Not especially.

11. Have you ever streaked or otherwise been naked in public? (send me pictures!)
Never intentionally streaked, but I have been seen naked in public. And no, I won't send pictures.

12. Do you play a musical instrument? Which one(s)?
I've played guitar for about 15 years. And I have a pretty decent voice.

13. Do you have any tattoos? If not, do you think you would ever get any?
No. If I got one, it would be a silver lizard, probably on my shoulderblade. Never mind why.

14. How many (of your own) bones have you broken?
None

15. Are you a morning person or a night person?
Night person, definitely

16. Do you prefer cats or dogs, if you can even choose or like either?
Dogs -- Cats are bitches.

17. Have you ever intentionally killed a (non-human) animal?
If you include insects, I'm a serial killer. Other than that, I've killed a couple birds and a deer.

18. Where do you see yourself -- physical location, metaphysically, career, personal life, etc -- five years from now?
I trry not to think too hard about these things. I find that, if you go with the flow, occasionally paddling a bit in the right direction, life will take you where you need to go.

19. Is this about ten questions too long?
Next question.

20. Paper or plastic?
Plastic. I reuse them to pick up dog shit. Hmmm... Maybe cats are better after all.

21. Would you like fries with that?
To paraphrase our boy Billy Clinton, That depends what the meaning of "that" is.

5. I better win the door prize for answering all of these....
Edited on Wed Mar-29-06 05:54 PM by southlandshari
1. What is more important (to you, in your life): happiness or material wealth?

Happiness. And it's a damn good thing. Because I have no money and a whole lot of happy!

2. How do you define success?

Success for me is measured by the day, sometimes by the hour. It is the day - or the hour - in which I have accepted whatever life has thrown my way without fighting the stuff over which I have no control, and made the most of that within my power. If I do that, successes as traditionally defined (good work performance, strong relationships, personal growth) inevitably follow!

3. If you can possibly pick one 'dream job,' what would it be?

I have my dream job now, making a difference in the lives of those in need - and those who need to give to others - in the community in which I was raised. Wherever I live, though, my dream job will fit that very simple description.

4. If you had to choose one place in which to live the rest of your life, where would it be?

I don't know. I don't want to choose. I want life to develop in real time, and try not to think too much about what I want or where I want it. Expectations are usually just planned resentments in the end.

5. Do you consider yourself physically attractive? If not, what would you change, if you could?

Yes. I'm no supermodel, but I'm happy, and I think it shows. The one thing I'd like to change (and certainly can if I want to badly enough) is the weakness in my legs, feet and hands. Remnants of a serious illness years ago that make me flat-footed and crampy-handed. All it takes is getting off my tail and working out more. So I guess I need to change my attitude and willingness to get physical more than anything - the rest will follow.

6. Can you roll your tongue?

Nope.

7. When was the last time you kissed someone? Who was it? What kind of kiss?

I kissed my daughter this morning on the cheek, and gave her a fierce hug as she left for a trip with her grandparents for the next several days. I miss her already.

8. Can you swim?

Like a fish. Have loved the water as long as I can remember. Just thinking about it makes me smile.

9. What is the first thing that pops into your mind if I were to ask you what you were grateful for today?

My best friend. I am grateful beyond description for all that he has supported me through in recent months.

10. Do you like to walk?

Not so much right now, but I used to, and could again. My answer to #5 explains why.

11. Have you ever streaked or otherwise been naked in public? (send me pictures!)

No comment. Except to say that I had forgotten who posted this list of questions until I read that one. Gump. It figures. LOL.

12. Do you play a musical instrument? Which one(s)?

Piano. Used to play trumpet and drums, but am out of practice on both.

13. Do you have any tattoos? If not, do you think you would ever get any?

No and no. What if I ever need to go on the lam? Don't need any identifying marks, you know. I do like the little .50 fake ones you can get out of gumball machines, though.

14. How many (of your own) bones have you broken?

Two - one of those in the middle of my foot, and a little one in my finger. Kind of remarkable now that I think of all the crazy shit I've done over the years...

15. Are you a morning person or a night person?

Night - though I'm pretty much awake most of the day and night, with a crash of 14 hours or so every two weeks. I am also sleeping much better these nights than I was most of last year.

16. Do you prefer cats or dogs, if you can even choose or like either?

Dogs. And I would like to add that only girly-men prefer cats.

17. Have you ever intentionally killed a (non-human) animal?

Lots of bugs. I'm pretty compassionate about all other life forms. And I would like to add that only girly-men refuse to squish roaches.

18. Where do you see yourself -- physical location, metaphysically, career, personal life, etc -- five years from now?

Happy. With family. Living a very full life. And at peace with myself.

19. Is this about ten questions too long?

If you have to ask....

20. Paper or plastic?

Whatever the person behind the counter gives me. Its all recyclable these days, so I recognize that I've got a shitload of other bigger decisions right in front of me on any given day to overthink the little stuff.

21. Would you like fries with that?

I can't believe I answered this many questions already, so I'm boycotting this one on principle.

:D

6. Turnabout is fair play...
1. What is more important (to you, in your life): happiness or material wealth?
Happiness.

2. How do you define success?
At the end of your life, how many people are standing at your graveside genuinely weeping at your loss? The higher the number, the greater the success.

3. If you can possibly pick one 'dream job,' what would it be?
Someone would pay me vast quantities of money to pretty much do whatever the heck I wanted.

4. If you had to choose one place in which to live the rest of your life, where would it be?
I like the place I live now. But one great truth I've discovered in life; you meet someone who you truly, deeply care for and anywhere he is, -that's home.

5. Do you consider yourself physically attractive? If not, what would you change, if you could?
Over the course of my life, I've gotten fairly positive feedback on my appearance. I'm not everyone's cup of tea, but generally speaking I'm considered attractive. Most days, I like who I see when I look in the mirror.

6. Can you roll your tongue?
Yep. In both directions.

7. When was the last time you kissed someone? Who was it? What kind of kiss?
Lunch today. I had lunch with a woman who's been my dear friend since we were children. We kissed one another on the cheek both to say hello and to say goodbye.

8. Can you swim?
Nope. And am I tad scrawny to float well, too.

9. What is the first thing that pops into your mind if I were to ask you what you were grateful for today?
A special person.

10. Do you like to walk?
I love it.

11. Have you ever streaked or otherwise been naked in public? (send me pictures!)
Yeah. And, no, I'm not sending you pictures.

12. Do you play a musical instrument? Which one(s)?
Flute, piccolo, percussion and melodic percussion and voice.

13. Do you have any tattoos? If not, do you think you would ever get any?
No and no.

14. How many (of your own) bones have you broken?
Two.

15. Are you a morning person or a night person?
Oddly, I am a night person, when left to my own devices. But for the past few years I've worked a schedule which puts me under the tyranny of morning people.

16. Do you prefer cats or dogs, if you can even choose or like either?
I've loved both cats and dogs. And horses too. I love animals in general. I form much quicker bonds with them than I tend to with most people.

17. Have you ever intentionally killed a (non-human) animal?
Do cockroaches count?

18. Where do you see yourself -- physical location, metaphysically, career, personal life, etc -- five years from now?
With someone who always feels like home.

19. Is this about ten questions too long?
Phtt... Like we would open a set a questions by ForrestGump and expect brevity.

20. Paper or plastic?
Bring your own shopping bag, dude.

21. Would you like fries with that?
Not usually. Once in a while.

7. Here goes:
1. What is more important (to you, in your life): happiness or material wealth?
Happiness. Which is a good thing since material wealth seems to elude me at every turn.

2. How do you define success?
Depends on when you ask, the definition seems to be fluid. Generally, I'd say being satisfied that you're doing the best you can with what you have.

3. If you can possibly pick one 'dream job,' what would it be?
I like the job I have but if I could do anything else in the world...write. And about something that I care about...a passion.

4. If you had to choose one place in which to live the rest of your life, where would it be?
I'd stay right where I am. Mostly I like it here.

5. Do you consider yourself physically attractive? If not, what would you change, if you could?
I'm average. Not particularly attractive, I tend to blend into the background most of the time. If I could change any one thing, I'd probably try to drop about ten pounds or so. And I'm working on it. Otherwise...I guess average is okay.

6. Can you roll your tongue?
Yup. I can wiggle my ears, too.

7. When was the last time you kissed someone? Who was it? What kind of kiss?
About a half-hour ago...kissed my youngest son before I left to go pick up my daughter's friend. Right, smack on his little head.

8. Can you swim?
Yup...was on the swim team in high school. 200 medley relay and the 100 backstroke.

9. What is the first thing that pops into your mind if I were to ask you what you were grateful for today?
That I have friends who put up with me when I get all sappy. I've been in one of 'those' moods.

10. Do you like to walk?
Depends. If I'm walking for the exercise, yes. If I'm walking because I couldn't find a decent parking place, then no.

11. Have you ever streaked or otherwise been naked in public? (send me pictures!)
I've managed to spare the world thus far.

12. Do you play a musical instrument? Which one(s)?
Keyboards and a little violin.

13. Do you have any tattoos? If not, do you think you would ever get any?
No. I have this thing about imagining what they'll look like and where they'll be in 20 years...and that usually stops me.

14. How many (of your own) bones have you broken?
I've broken both wrists (not at the same time), my collarbone and the little toe on my left foot.

15. Are you a morning person or a night person?
Night...no question. Only reason I'm up in the mornings, ever, is because I've got kids.

16. Do you prefer cats or dogs, if you can even choose or like either?
Cats, definitely. They're more independent and lower-maintenance. Plus they're just cool.

17. Have you ever intentionally killed a (non-human) animal?
An animal? As in mammal? No.

18. Where do you see yourself -- physical location, metaphysically, career, personal life, etc -- five years from now?
I have no idea. Ask me again in five years.

19. Is this about ten questions too long?
LOL...making me think too much, that's for sure.

20. Paper or plastic?
Both...kids use paper to cover textbooks, and for school projects so I always try and keep some. Plastic I tend to reuse for this, that and the other.

21. Would you like fries with that?
Odd as it sounds, I'm not big on fries...I can take 'em or leave 'em and I usually leave 'em.

8. Fun
1. What is more important (to you, in your life): happiness or material wealth?

Happiness. I've never had wealth but I've been unhappy. It's far worse than poverty.

2. How do you define success?

Living well, having a positive impact on those around you and on the planet.

3. If you can possibly pick one 'dream job,' what would it be?

Test rider of roller coasters.

4. If you had to choose one place in which to live the rest of your life, where would it be?

I'm at home wherever I am but "home" deep in my soul is Vermont so I would say that.

5. Do you consider yourself physically attractive? If not, what would you change, if you could?

I'm not repulsive. I don't look too bad for a 45 year old grandmother. The only things I'd change would be the things I would change if I wasn't so lazy - firm up all the flabby muscles, lose a few pounds. Oh, and I could do without the gray hair. :grr:

6. Can you roll your tongue?

Yup

7. When was the last time you kissed someone? Who was it? What kind of kiss?

This morning when I kissed my SO goodbye. It was a peck on the cheek - he was mostly asleep.

8. Can you swim?

No and I'm petrified of water.

9. What is the first thing that pops into your mind if I were to ask you what you were grateful for today?

My life.

10. Do you like to walk?

Oh, yes. I can walk all day.

11. Have you ever streaked or otherwise been naked in public? (send me pictures!)

No photos of me naked exist but yes, I've been naked in public (we skinny dip where I come from and I know, I can't swim but I can wade).

12. Do you play a musical instrument? Which one(s)?

No, wish I'd learned to.

13. Do you have any tattoos? If not, do you think you would ever get any?

No and no. I've admired them on others but never had a desire for one of my own.

14. How many (of your own) bones have you broken?

Just one. My back (1st lumbar vertabrae)

15. Are you a morning person or a night person?

Morning, always have been. In my youth, I'd stay up half the night but I still got up by 8 am at the latest.

16. Do you prefer cats or dogs, if you can even choose or like either?

Dogs. I have a cat and love him - I love all animals. But I love the companionship of dogs.

17. Have you ever intentionally killed a (non-human) animal?

Yes. I've raised animals for food.

18. Where do you see yourself -- physical location, metaphysically, career, personal life, etc -- five years from now?

No idea. I don't try to predict - I'm just along for the ride.

19. Is this about ten questions too long?

Nah.

20. Paper or plastic?

Plastic. I use them for small size garbage bags.

21. Would you like fries with that?

No, thanks.

9. Mine
1. What is more important (to you, in your life): happiness or material wealth?
Happiness of having material wealth

2. How do you define success?
Success is being happy of who you are and who you have become.

3. If you can possibly pick one 'dream job,' what would it be?
I would be Santa Claus

4. If you had to choose one place in which to live the rest of your life, where would it be?
I guess it would be on some island that I owned. I would have all my friends there and would eat, drink and do Mary.

5. Do you consider yourself physically attractive? If not, what would you change, if you could?
Looking back on it, I guess I was. i never realized it until i became older and by that time it was too late.

6. Can you roll your tongue?
Yeppers

7. When was the last time you kissed someone? Who was it? What kind of kiss?
I had a family thing this past weekend and had a few family kisses. Which is strange because I was always considered "unapproachable" by people. I must be getting older now that they come up to me and want to hug and kiss on me.

8. Can you swim?
When I was 6 they threw me in the water at the "Y" and I learnt how to swim that day so I didn't die. So, yes.

9. What is the first thing that pops into your mind if I were to ask you what you were grateful for today?
To know so many wonderful people in my life. I don't give up friends easily.

10. Do you like to walk?
I love the fact that I can walk, but I would rather have someone bring things to me.

11. Have you ever streaked or otherwise been naked in public? (send me pictures!)
Never streaked. What qualifies for naked in public? Someone has to see you? I don't know.....

12. Do you play a musical instrument? Which one(s)?
I play guitar mainly and can fake my way through harmonica, banjo, piano, bass, drums, dobro, mandolin, uke and any other thing someone throws at me.

13. Do you have any tattoos? If not, do you think you would ever get any?
Yes, a few

14. How many (of your own) bones have you broken?
Never broke a bone. I ain't made like crap.

15. Are you a morning person or a night person?
The night time is the right time.

I agree with you on this one 100% Plus cats remind me of Dirty Harry and i think it's funny.

17. Have you ever intentionally killed a (non-human) animal?
Yes. I did some hunting when I was young.

18. Where do you see yourself -- physical location, metaphysically, career, personal life, etc -- five years from now?
I guess I will do what I do forever. Who knows what is around the proverbial corner?

19. Is this about ten questions too long?
i don't answer these too often. So yeah, it's too fucking long Forrest!

20. Paper or plastic?
Paper. It makes for better masks

21. Would you like fries with that?
If covered in vinagar...yes.

14. I am not a number. I'm a dead man!

1. What is more important (to you, in your life): happiness or material wealth?

Photojournalist

5. Do you consider yourself physically attractive? If not, what would you change, if you could?
I've always been ugly. And I've had plenty of people to remind me.

Been 8 months now. My ex. Token.

Yes. Flies, mosquitoes, and fed small feeder fish to bigger ones and in turn made them happy who in turn made me some babies.

18. Where do you see yourself -- physical location, metaphysically, career, personal life, etc -- five years from now?
Rotting in a grave, exterminated.

18. Where do you see yourself -- physical location, metaphysically, career, personal life, etc -- five years from now?

Plastic...reuse for small trash can bags...and cleaning the cat box!

21. Would you like fries with that?

16. OK
1. What is more important (to you, in your life): happiness or material wealth?
Happiness, most definitely. I've made a lot of material sacrifices for that, but you cannot buy some things and ultimately, things will probably turn out more than ok the other way as well (for my needs anyway).

2. How do you define success?
To be able to meet the needs of those who depend on me while doing something I enjoy.

3. If you can possibly pick one 'dream job,' what would it be?
I'd open a health clinic (possible for women and children) in an area of need.

4. If you had to choose one place in which to live the rest of your life, where would it be?
To me where is less important than with whom. I've never felt tied so much geographically, but as long as the people I care for are nearby, I'm fine.

5. Do you consider yourself physically attractive? If not, what would you change, if you could?
Yes. I tend to be OK in that department. I'd always like to be thinner, but I find it's more my neurosis than from the reaction of most men.

6. Can you roll your tongue?
Quite well thank you.

7. When was the last time you kissed someone? Who was it? What kind of kiss?
Cheek kiss? That was from my son this afternoon. Lovey dovey passion kiss? That was from my SO this morning. Anything else? Errr...

8. Can you swim?
Yes, but perhaps not as well as some people. Every dude in my life seems to have been a really good swimmer though. I'm just so-so.

9. What is the first thing that pops into your mind if I were to ask you what you were grateful for today?
A special person as well.

10. Do you like to walk?
Yes, weather permitting.

11. Have you ever streaked or otherwise been naked in public? (send me pictures!)
Not really. As for pictures, well, um. Let's just say I'm too spoken for for that. I will say those which exist were only seen by two people ever.

12. Do you play a musical instrument? Which one(s)?
I'm a decent singer, but it's not something I do regularly.

13. Do you have any tattoos? If not, do you think you would ever get any?
No and no. Just not my cup of tea.

14. How many (of your own) bones have you broken?
Tailbone in a prolonged labor. Still wobbly.

15. Are you a morning person or a night person?
Night, but I'm just overall kind of perky most of the time,

16. Do you prefer cats or dogs, if you can even choose or like either?
Cats. Most dogs annoy me in all honesty.

17. Have you ever intentionally killed a (non-human) animal?
Just bugs and a mouse once.

18. Where do you see yourself -- physical location, metaphysically, career, personal life, etc -- five years from now?
In my chosen field, possibly in or considering grad school. Maybe I'll be a mom again, but not sure yet. I could be in a different location, but it'll be within a couple hundred miles if I were to be.

19. Is this about ten questions too long?
Anyone ever tell you that you're really wordy? :D

20. Paper or plastic?
I usually don't care.

21. Would you like fries with that?
Sometimes.

1. What is more important (to you, in your life): happiness or material wealth?
Happiness.

2. How do you define success? To quote Bessie Stanley
Success
He has achieved success
who has lived well,
laughed often, and loved much;
who has enjoyed the trust of pure women,
the respect of intelligent men
and the love of little children;
who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;
who has left the world better than he found it
whether by an improved poppy,
a perfect poem, or a rescued soul;
who has never lacked appreciation of Earth's beauty
or failed to express it;
who has always looked for the best in others
and given them the best he had;
whose life was an inspiration;
whose memory a benediction.

No and no, I don't find them attractive and needles make me feel all icky, why pay someone to mark me with a needle.

14. How many (of your own) bones have you broken? I've never broken a bone. Worse thing I did was break a knuckle, didn't really break it, just messed it up really bad.

15. Are you a morning person or a night person? Whhoooo, whooooo me? Night.

16. Do you prefer cats or dogs, if you can even choose or like either?
Dogs.

17. Have you ever intentionally killed a (non-human) animal? No (bugs are not animals, esepcially cockroaches x( )

18. OK, I'll play
1. What is more important (to you, in your life): happiness or material wealth?
Happiness and being content

2. How do you define success?
Being able to get paid for doing something I find rewarding. I think I've achieved at least a measure of that and having done so, I may branch out in the future into other projects, independent of official work.

3. If you can possibly pick one 'dream job,' what would it be?
Being a best-selling novelist or maybe National Geographic reporter.

4. If you had to choose one place in which to live the rest of your life, where would it be?
It would involve someplace warm. I'm getting so I detest winter. So I want to feel more sun and more light.

5. Do you consider yourself physically attractive? If not, what would you change, if you could?
Reasonably so. I don't recoil when I look in the mirror. I usually get "You're cute." :-) I'm small and I used to think I'd want to be taller but I like who I am now and being short is a part of that.

6. Can you roll your tongue?
Yes. I can almost tie knots in cherry stems too. It might take one more jar's practice.

7. When was the last time you kissed someone? Who was it? What kind of kiss?
My 3 yo niece, a few weeks ago.

8. Can you swim?
I can keep from drowning, but there's nothing graceful about it. I could use a lesson or two.

9. What is the first thing that pops into your mind if I were to ask you what you were grateful for today?
Blue skies and just-blooming tulips, the return of the water lilies

10. Do you like to walk?
I love it. In fact it's imperative that I do walk. I have a treadmill and get on that every morning. Since we've had a gradual warm up here, I've taken to stopping at my favorite public garden on the way home from work. I don't have the distance thing down yet, I can only do about 1.5 miles/day. But I'll get there over the months.

11. Have you ever streaked or otherwise been naked in public? (send me pictures!)
Yeah, if a ladies steam room at the gym counts. :-)

12. Do you play a musical instrument? Which one(s)?
Flute and some organ, but not for a while now. I do sing a little.

13. Do you have any tattoos? If not, do you think you would ever get any?
No and I've entertained the idea. Something small and tasteful like a Celtic knot around my ankle, that kind of thing. But I'd have to antibiotics first though and that's what usually stops me, not the idea of the tattoo itself.

14. How many (of your own) bones have you broken?
None. Knock wood But I'm very durable. I have all kinds of scars and such from surgeries, so I think I'm qualified to say I'm road-tested.

15. Are you a morning person or a night person?
Afternoon to night person. I seem to gradually gather steam throughout the day.

16. Do you prefer cats or dogs, if you can even choose or like either?
Cats, for the same reasons you do. The whole dominance/"alpha dog" framework puts me off. Who cares who's on top? ;-) I like that, with a cat, it's more of an equal relationship. Besides, dogs need watching 24/7. You can leave a cat for the weekend and they will be purrfectly happy while you're gone.

17. Have you ever intentionally killed a (non-human) animal?
I wanted to say no, but since you mentioned insects, then Yes. I kill most insects that invade my home. Paper wasps really love my sun porch for some reason. I kill one every day during warm weather.

18. Where do you see yourself -- physical location, metaphysically, career, personal life, etc -- five years from now?
I don't know location wise, but professionally, I hope to still be doing what I'm doing now and maybe have a more rewarding personal life to go with it.

19. Is this about ten questions too long?
You are more verbose here than of late.

20. Paper or plastic?
Paper, please. I can recycle the brown paper bags. But the African made market baskets are catching my eye.

21. Would you like fries with that?
No, thanks, I'm trying to cut back.
