Tan -- rested -- and funny. Delicious.

I don't remember anyone like him ever in news -- he does satire -- with a nice voice -- he had to shift gears from the Duke/la crosse/rape story (difficult story) to the Naomi Campbell story (a lighter story) and almost apologized for the segue.

23. That's Keith in a nutshell.

He's like the antithesis of this horrible grating female local newscaster I grew up with, who was always trying to segue from horrible tragic news to lighter news with horribly bad-taste and unfunny jokes and puns. ("And speaking of rape, Jim, our movie critic says you may feel as if *you've* been raped after you see the one he's reviewing today. Over to you, Bob.")

Keith seems extremely conscious of the need to be tasteful and careful when moving from a serious or tragic story on the broadcast to a light one. You'll often find him saying, when he introduces the "Keeping Tabs" part of the show (i.e., the celebrity news), "No easy segue, then..." if the previous story has been a solemn one. If it hasn't, he may say "An easy segue, then..." Or if he does make a joking segue, it's a snark on a celebrity. For example, if the previous story was about something having to do with a hot-air balloon, he might say "And, speaking of big bags full of nothing but hot air, we have news tonight on Rush Limbaugh..." :rofl:
