I watched "The Devil's Rejects" last night
Edited on Thu Mar-30-06 05:37 PM by Taverner
And not only was it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the first, it was downright fucking amazing. It's a sequel to "House of 1000 Corpses", but this one is much more coherent and visceral.

The story: a family of serial killers is hunted by a cop and they kill a lot of people along the way.

Not for everyone though. Extremely violent, extremly sadistic and very gritty.

Lemme put it this way - 2 hours of no redeemable characters, yet you're glued to the screen the whole time.

7. Oh yeah that was fucking grusome
I was really hoping the sheriff would kill the woman that Rob Zombie's wife played, I have to admit I thought it was funny when the sheriff got up tight with the PI who was upset that Elvis's death got more publicity than Groucho Marx's.

4. I found it to be quite the snoozefest
No tension, buildup, nothing. Just a bunch of assholes taking themselves waaay too seriously.

9. Here is the next movie you need to see...

...and...IRONY of IRONIES...Amazon sez "Buy this DVD with The Devil's Rejects (Unrated Widescreen Edition) DVD"

Those who are "in the know" will immediately recognize this as a sequel / remake / homage to the legendary-slash-infamous Herschel Gordon Lewis' drive-in classic "2000 Maniacs."

Being well-versed in the films of Lewis, and owning a copy of "2000 Maniacs," the only thing I can tell you is Buy or Rent 2001 Maniacs NOW.

I watched it yesterday for the first time. The director SHOT, the director SCORED.

:toast:

10. Oh I've seen 2001 Maniacs
As well as the HG Lewis Classic - and yes, awesome flick.

Very different than Devils Rejects tho, but very good

12. HAHAHAHAHA
Of course Anorexic Coulter isn't even one tenth as attractive as Shari Moon, Rob Zombie's wife (who plays Baby)

15. It's definitely not for everyone
If you get squeamish by scenes of torture...it's definitely not your kind of film.

16. I found it a bit disturbing...
Constant needless murder and maiming. I've lost my taste for movies like that. If you liked that movie, you'll probably love The Hills Have Eyes. I found it disturbing as hell and will now never go into the desert.
