I never get a new cell phone.
I've had the same one for like five years.

Does it take pictures? Does it play a little song? Does it walk the dog for me?

I don't give a shit--I just answer it when it rings! :hi:

1. I Just Got a New One
Loved One got a new car, and the new car is Blue Tooth, so he needed a Blue Tooth phone ... so I got a new one, too. It doesn't ring; it plays the Aqua Teen Hunger Force theme. The only reason I have one is because my car blew a head gasket two years ago and I had to wait for someone with a cell to call AAA for me. Unlikely to happen again, but Loved One got me a phone just in case.

2. The new phones perplex me.
What are people doing with them? Texting and playing and photographing and Oh My God like who has TIME for all that crap?

3. Well...
I do text, but not like teens do. I'll send a text (like, "do we need groceries?") when I need an answer, just not immediately, and a phone call may not be appropriate since one of us is at work. The camera might be handy in case of an accident; no need to keep a disposable camera in the glove box. And yes, I do like gadgets, but I'm not stupid enough to use any of them while I'm driving - that's what voicemail's there for.

4. How do you manage that?
I had mine for two years before the battery failed, and when I went to buy a new one they just laughed. It was cheaper to replace the phone than then battery (and now I have a phone that also takes crappy pictures!)
