20. I'm really bummed to miss out this time.
I would love to go, but Shine Girl's softball team is having a season kick-off family bbq thang, on top of her game, and I can't miss out on them.

I'll be there, in spirit. :toast: Call me in....

I wanna see pix, too, dammit. :)

So pics will be forthcoming.

Hopefully the Bay Area folks will put together the next event, since we won't have too much more comfortable weather here in the valley.

esp. the Monterey Bay area. :)

I'm not willing to take on organizing one, though. I'll admit that. :D

so it would be convenient for people from "red" California.... Redding, Fresno, etc.

And lemme tell ya, I am never organizing one again! :banghead:

Spelunking in and excavating closet space (a la swag's "get rid of 20 lbs of shit)
Church Sunday morning
French film festival at 1928 movie palace late Sunday afternoon

5. All sounds good except for the Opera part
But hey - who am I to judge.

I just don't "get" opera, much like I don't "get" NASCAR or Star Trek.

12. Opera got a lot easier to watch when they added supertitles
so you don't have to know the foreign languages to follow the dialogue. Sometimes you need the titles for the operas in english. Also, sometimes now the characters are younger and believable in the roles instead of an aging, balding tenor as the love interest, or the balcony straining under the weight of the "most beautiful, desirable princess in all of China".

Everything isn't for everybody and I know I've already attended my first and last Monster Truck Show.

16. Come on over!

Work was absolutely awful for about three weeks and once I got finished with the project my body rewarded me with a bronchial slop thing. I stayed home for a couple days and all was pajamas, DVDs, cough syrup and Bewitched. (Livin' large!)

Now it has evened out to enjoyably normal. This is an unusual weekend for good stuff.

I go to a cool old church that is all about love instead of hate, but if you come visit--Sunday morning will be all about Brunch!!!

19. Yay! I'm glad things are better!
Ick about the bronchial stuff, though! My boy had a nasty case of bronchitis awhile back. Not fun. I've been to some scary churches. When my husband and I were looking for someone to marry us (in retrospect, I SHOULD have insisted on a JOP) someone sent us to a church where the person we met with said in order for him to marry us, I would have to move out of our apartment and live separately until the wedding. We had a newborn baby, at the time, and I didn't work. I was polite until we got out of the church, and then I laughed my ass off!

32. I think you showed admirable restraint

and speaking of restraint (no, khashka, not that kind) I'm still holding firm. Thanks for the secret Lahti quote! The change of seasons stirred the voices a little--suggesting now that winter is over there were lots of great springtime activities that smoking could be a part of. But I think I'm in a pretty good place mentally to turn a deaf ear.

We are strong, sistah!

and I'll be in the stands cheering my brother's homemade, no-sponsor street stock car. He's been laid off from Chrysler for more than 18 months, and he needs something to look forward to, as there is no sign he'll ever get called back. Indiana sucks - except for the racing!

6. 1. Get in the car, drive to Bay View.
2. Realize we forgot the check book, turn around and return to the East Side.
3. Get back in the car, drive to Bay View.
4. Meet future landlady. Hand her large check.
5. Get keys, begin walk-through.
6. Experience renters' remorse as we realize the place is a lot smaller/darker/uglier/etc. than we remembered when we applied for it a month ago.
7. Feel better about the place when we see that the kitchen/bathroom/etc. is, indeed, much better than we remembered.
8. Finish the walk-through, search frantically for child.
9. Simultaneously find her, and realize the previous tenants didn't leave any toilet paper, and we left our "essentials box" at home, when child yells "I NEED HELP!" from the bathroom.

etc.

I plan to ride my new bike around, go running, and do homework. Oh, and I'll probably do the usual watch-my-husband-sleep-in-and-then-lay-on-the-couch-all-day routine, while I do every fucking thing that requires effort around here. It should be stellar.:eyes:

14. Not sure really. I'd like to be able to go out tonight
because even though I have to work late, I don't have to work Saturday for once and we've had a friend in town all week who I've barely been able to hang out with. (He's actually the boyfriend's friend, but I think it would be nice if we could all go out so I could get to know him a little more.) That or watch Bill Maher and drink a lot of wine. Either way really.

Saturday--not a goddamn thing if I can help it. Maybe clean the house. Go out later maybe, watch a movie at home, I don't have a clue. Also, pay rent and reset the clocks. (Excitement abounds).

Sunday--I have no idea. I don't even know if I have to work or not yet. I'm guessing I probably do, but I hope I don't. A full weekend off would be a nice treat.
