Okay, so my daughter is in NYC with her show choir.
They went to Chinatown today for lunch and she calls all excited that some lady was selling 'REAL' Coach, Prada, etc., wallets, purses, in an alley.

She bought a 'REAL' Coach wallet for $15.

I didn't have the heart to to tell her it was a fake.

1. She'll figure it out when it falls apart in a few months.

She should go to a Coach outlet store. The prices are great. There's one in Chattanooga where I shop when visiting my family.

6. Great story!
My daughter goes on her band trip to NYC on April vacation. Is your daughter having just the best time of her life? I bet she is! Mine can't wait. She wants to wear her "Yankees Suck" tee shirt and shop and shop and shop!
What a great trip for the kids and what a memory. My daughter's HS band and chorus went to Williamsburg two years ago. How those kids managed to have such a great time in such a sober place is beyond me. Wish your daughter well from me if they are in a competition. I am sure she will do well!

10. I really, really miss her.
I thought I would enjoy my teenager free weekend. Not having to drive her places with the friends or pick up at 11 or have 10 of them sleeping on the floor of my sunroom, but I really miss her.

She called last night to tell me she saw George Clooney!!!! She told everyone that he was great because in addition to being so handsome, he was a liberal!!!

11. It would be very difficult for me, too...
if MMjr were far away for a weekend. He's my little pal. :D

Did she get close enough to Clooney to get an autograph? :bounce:

12. I don't think so. She said he was walking with another guy really
fast. She just called and wanted me to put more $$$ on her card :eyes: She bought stuff for the family and I wanted her to get a DVD of the show, so you can guess which thing she hasn't gotten yet.

She said they did really well and they are having an awesome time. I really hope the judges say good things about them. The other show choir from her school has won all its competitions this spring and they haven't, and they are really disappointed for the director.

I told her that the judges were idiots. Not very adult, I know, but their show is amazing and the director has put their voices to their absolute best. The judges in NYC at this event are from the MidWest, the 'home' of show choir, so I think they will do well. *fingers crossed that they don't come in last*

14. Judges are idiots.
Edited on Sat Apr-01-06 01:11 PM by Maddy McCall
I've often wondered what makes a person want to be a judge. I was asked to be one in an academic competition at our university. I said NO. Why? I can remember junior high--Iknow how it feels to be told that my whatever isn't as good as the other kids'. I just can't do that to people. Usually, there's no "outstanding" project in the competition I was expected to judge, and it's more about nepotism and cronyism...so I just didn't do it. I backed out.

When does the little Midlo come home?

I was given a bogus $10 bill in change after I bought some 'good value' item on the street. It was a two-fer!

kids will know the difference, either! Sounds like a fun trip, the lucky duck!
