1. Better than getting some 78s
And her telling you "Here, you can play these on your Victrola".

No

2. Hey, I'm ten years younger than you
And actually enjoy big band music, both the bands of yesteryear, Miller, Goodman, etc, and the modern takes on it with Brian Setzer, etc. There is actually a huge amount of talent, and it's fun to listen to.

But then again, hey I like almost all genres of music:shrug:

You have fabulous taste in music. Is the big band era usually not part of that?

8. Of course! I was looking for the Gameday app, but can't find it --
maybe it's only for when the season starts.

I love the Freeway Series. :hi:

4. Well.........
I suppose it's better than her buying you some heavy metal or punk or even rap, the bands of which the names are barely pronouncable!

I feel old when I think about my first band favorites or groups--it's kind of quaint to be in love with Paul Revere and the Raiders, Herman's Hermits and the Monkees nowadays. :)

People take your year of birth and assume that the music playing in that time and place would be among favorites. They neglect to think that musical inerest usually takes at least a decade to take affect. You would probably have been fairly happy with Elvis, the Beatles, or Frankie Avalon, I assume?

13. Daughters are the greatest -
I recently turned 54 and my 24 year old daughter gave me a Charlotte's Web DVD and a Jefferson Airplane album she snagged off of eBay. Straight to my heart.

15. Jefferson Airplane!!!
How cool is that.

I get a charge when my daughter plays Eric Clapton.

Sometimes I think our children are listening.

17. I think so, too
I love it when she and I are riding in my car together and I have the radio on a classics station and she knows all the words to a Bob Dylan song. Prompts additional great conversation.
