Any fans of the Dog Whisperer here?
http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/dogwhisperer/

I don't have a dog. But I'm addicted to this show on the National Geographic network. Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer, trains people to train their dogs. And wow, I never realized how people could make life so miserable for their dogs by not understanding that the human is the leader of the dog pack and that even the smallest, sweetest-looking dog is a pack animal first and foremost and must be trained to consider the human as the leader.

It's fascinating. I tried the techniques on a couple of rambunctious neighbor dogs. It works.

1. My son watches that show religiously.
The doggies are pretty well in hand--now I need a kitty whisperer.

4. yeah, no kidding
Unfortunately, the psychology of the pack does not apply to cats. Their heirarchy is territorial. They are much harder to influence and/or discipline. I have a situation where one cat will NOT integrate into the household of four others. He's sweet as pie with humans but a bully with the four cats. If only Cesar's techniques would work with cats.

6. Dog Whisperer
I love the show. It works on my 2 dogs. When I use the techniques they stop in their tracks, look at me and go lay down. Amazing.

7. Caesar is a local here
And I've heard other professional dog trainers say he's not all he's cracked up to be. More of a showman than a top-knotch trainer (Of course he does have a tv show - what do you expect)?

I'd treat it as entertainment, but I'd go to a real professional for doggie problems.
