Poll question: Do you have emergency evacuation drills where you work?
This thread led me to wonder once again something I have wondered about many times in the past.

Do you who who work in an environment with all adults have fire drills and tornado drills at work? My husband said most places he has worked just make sure you know where to go if they have an emergency, but they usually don't practice evacuating the building.

Is it a law for some facilities, like hospitals and nursing homes, to have regular drills? It is a law that we have to have one fire drill a month at school and one tornado drill a year. Now we have to have emergency evacuation drills too (since 9/11).

I read an article about a company in the WTC that had the smallest loss of life of any WTC company and they had also had regular fire drills for years before 9/11. The companies that had not had drills lost more employees on 9/11.

So what about where you work?
