Dead Kennedy's (Punk Rock Band): Bedtime for Democracy
I bought it again a few weeks ago and as fitting it was during the Reagan era and the Cold war, it is just as fitting now with Buscho in office, and sadly even closer to the truth now then in the 1980's.

2. That is a band.....
That I thought ruled the earth when they were around, but have in some of the strangest ways imaginable sullied their legacy at every turn.

Whether it's Jello's insistance on repeating the same phrases and bon mot's and speeches for literally decades now (I don't care how relevant they still are, get some new material big guy), the rest of the bands shameless whoring, the ridiculous lawsuits between the two of them, Jello's shady business dealings, or that debacle of a reunion with Brandon Cruz from Dr. Know singing.

Much of their music still holds up but their overall legacy is a shadow of it's former self for me.

4. And it's really a damn shame too
...because we could use some bands like the DK's right about now. It's time for a political punk revival.

3. Yet one phrase from that album...
...I find myself repeating nearly every time I see some mallrat sporting a Good Charlotte t-shirt:

"Punk's not dead, it just deserves to die
When it becomes another stale cartoon."
