1. Etheree
Are
You nuts?
Like poems
Fall from the
Heavens. And who are
you, Skip, to give orders?
I need my Moleskine, coffee,
and point seven millimeter
rollerball pen to write. So I think
there will be no words for the Lounge tonight.

2. Anxiety
Twitchy.
Can't breathe right, really.

Breathe.

Calm.

Twitch.
Stomach in little knots.
Shaking from the inside.

A nap would help.

6. An Ode To Mexican Flag Bashers on GD
Simple minded, tight-arsed prigs
scared of dagos, spics and jigs
on my radar you barely rated
a burning flag gets you aerated
for your opinion I don't give two figs

9. A Short Story
A Short story
is a very fine thing
Too much too say, but so little space
And Yet, it gets delivered
nonetheless

10. a bit of prose - a short short
Tulips

That spring, the tulips were covered with snow. It was so pretty! The bright bold colors bursting through the white - a perfect contrast and a literal illustration of conflict. I made everyone come outside to look. I even took a picture to remind me that life reflects nature and nature reflects life.

Nothing else, and everything else remarkable happened that year. Old choral colonies died in far away seas. Foreign illness took wing. My brother-in-law won the lottery. My Grandfather died. Drilling for oil in every conceivable place began in earnest. My oldest son graduated from high school. I tended my garden. War continues to rage in far away places.

This spring, the tulips are bold and bright.

I wish I could see Alaska.

12. Restraint
Something I am finding
in short supply these days
as an interloper hangs out
at my house where I am
no longer needed.
I want to hurt.
