With a name like yours, can't you take care of the rain? ;)

Seriously, I hope you get some sunshine soon! I don't do well without it, either. How long has it been grey and rainy?

58. I went to Arizona
for 4 days to get away from this. It was warm, sunny and sad to say extremely dry. They had 140+ days without rain! No lovely desert blooms this year.

Still I enjoyed the warmth. Right now I have a turtleneck sweater on and a fleece vest. It isn't really that cold today but psychologically it feels like 40 degrees. Normally, I don't mind rain but this is getting to be depressing.

is people who go around telling other people to cheer up - she can actually get quite eloquent on the subject.

Personally, I've been enjoying a good solid grumpy-mood for most of the weekend - foul moods are at least as fun as cheery moods (and I don't think those perpetually cheery folk are entirely trustworthy...)

39. I was in Sac this weekend
and OMG the RAIN! Like, it didn't stop! Well ok, so it didn't rain ALL day on Saturday, but Friday? Cripes.

Speaking of which, as I was landing at the Sac airport, we flew over what I assume was the Sac river and the fields around it were so flooded that it looked like rice patties. Yikes.

Meanwhile, down here in SoCal, we seem to have had the perfect amount of rain. The hills are SO green. As we were landing in Burbank, the people in the row behind me on the airplane said it looked like we were in Ireland. Seriously, bright green hills. Weird.

I kept asking people if that's what they were and every last one of them looked at me like I was insane, said something sarcastic about California's infamous rice crop, and then said something about the large amount of rain they've been having.

I thought I was going nuts, cuz they looked purposefully flooded. Good to know that NorCal's not going to need an ark and that I'm not insane. ;)

But between the airport and the city of Sacto is the Yolo bypass, which handles floodwater from the river, and YES there was a LOT of water moving through the bypass on Saturday.

65. UPDATE: It's Tues. am and it's STILL RAINING!!
We're getting really heavy rains as I type this. The ground is so saturated that mudslides are getting to be a serious potential problem. Yesterday trees came down on Hwy 17 and crews had to close it in both directions for several hours while they were cleared away. Somebody on the south end of the county had their neighbor's yard slide into their kitchen yesterday. There are slides up and down the Big Sur coast...It's getting ugly..

And there's NO end to this weather pattern for the next 10 days!!! :banghead:

I live on a hillside and we've had several small slides into the road below. I don't expect my house to be sliding away at any point - I think it's anchored pretty well - but I must say it makes me feel a little funny.

I'm thankful that it's my day off and I don't have to be out in this stuff. I'd write a letter of complaint if I could think of who to send it to.

73. I know, we can complain and bitch, but it doesn't really help, does it?
:grr:

The rains this morning are just unreal. It's been constant and heavy all morning long!

Be safe and cozy out there, skygazer! :loveya: I'm glad you don't have out in this, either.

Are you wearing your sweats again? LOL. :pals:

70. Yeah it is getting VERY OLD
having gray skies and rain nearly every day this late in the season. I don't dare go to the top of the yard because the ground is so saturated that I'd probably slide back down hill on the mud. I'm tired of shoveling and sweeping mulch back into the flower beds after it floats over the bed borders because the soil can't percolate the water anymore. The nearby open space hills are sending off little mudslides to the road and the county has dropped Jersey Barriers at the base to keep it at bay. I feel for the people who live adjacent to it.

Let me join you: :banghead:
