Anyone know how to get rid of a painful groin injury??
I ripped my groin muscle the other day, and I have to be ready for a skateathon this coming sunday. I looked in the medical websites, and they said, rest, aspirin, and cold packs. Even then, it will take from 7 days to 4 weeks to heal. Any suggestions?

1. I'm recovering from a psoas muscle strain right now, in fact.
NOT FUN. It's been several months and a long process of recovery. You have my sympathy.

I'm doing lots of Physical Therapy, special stretches and exercises, heat/ice, rest.....

Mostly, it just takes Time and Patience.

Hang in there and welcome to DU, btw! :toast: Take good care of yourself, killerbush.

3. Ow
I'm dealing with a painful piriformis/sciatica problem right now and have had to get physical therapy (it affects the groin/psoas muscles too). The only thing that gives any relief (and barely) is ice and Advil.

What's worse, is that this has been bothering me off and on for two months. :(

Hope you feel better soon. Hope this gets better before Sunday.

Please do not solicit medical advice at DU. The advice you receive may be a clever ruse to lure you into having your brain placed inside an art deco robot.
