I tried something new this weekend:

...and I had some great instruction from astonishingly talented friends.

HOWEVER. Despite my remarkable advances -- I'm told I'm a natural athelete -- I still managed to bang the SNOT out of myself, whilst going too fast. Board left the ground, I slammed my butt and head rather nicely. Was even blinded for a few seconds.

DIAGNOSIS: Whiplash. Minor. Method of injury: blunt force trauma. Acting body: the Continental Divide. :D

FURTHER DIAGNOSIS: I am getting old. But I still can turn both ways, after only one day. Plus, I'm told I looked sick while doing it all. Which, I'm told, is good. :P

Hey, the butt is there for a reason. As we evolved, snowboarding was taken into consideration. Hence, the butt. It's easier on the ass if you slide, not bounce on it. Sometimes you just skip it across the snow, though.

It takes a full season to get used to the board, at least.

The smile on your face looks like you had fun, though. Where'd you go?

2. Quite goofy

Actually felt rather intuitive. I skateboarded when a teenager, so that might've helped.

I tried goofy (right foot forward) once. Never again. My forward balance was WAY off. Needless to say, the faceplant would've been something to capture on video.
