They feel better today. It's only four months. So I think I'll be ok.

5. Doesn't look to bad, better then the metal ones.
I wore metal ones through 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th grade. Two times I had to have a small spring placed between two teeth to make more room, wonder how thos work with those molded deals. Anyways the worst thing about them wasn't the pain really of having them get adjusted but the injuries in daily life you can get.

I remember in 8th grade a girl turned around while moving some books off a shelf and accidentally hit me in the mouth with my elbow.. sliced the inside of my mouth all to hell.

6. I had those kind, too
Rubber bands, neckgear, the whole works. Ugh. I hated going in every month to have the wire tightened, too. It always hurt for a few days, and they did it every month. I was lucky enough that it never coincided with the other monthly pain I get.

In the 3 years I was treated by the orthodontist, I was never once given any kind of prescription pain killer. My mom would give me aspirin. I didn't get any even following the removal of my bi-cuspids, although I did get nitrous during the procedure.

8. Ooooo.... nitrous
I had it twice -- it was wonderful... as good as getting stoned. They could have pulled all my teeth out after I was high on it, and I would have just laughed!

10. My sister has braces now,
and she has all sorts of rubber bands going on. One goes diagonally across the front of her mouth, so she has to get creative to get snacks in there. Oy, and she's 28.

11. I had them when I was in the fifth grade

The heavy metal kind. Five long years. Rubber bands in every direction.

Seems like they have come along baby.

(By the way, the pain will subside in a couple days, it is just the initial pressure on your teeth)!

Good luck.

Here's to a beautiful smile!
