How ridiculous is New York's offense going to be anyway? That's a damn fine pitching staff they butchered today. Do you realize what they are going to do to Tampa bay?

Don't fret A's fans. You get Seattle starting on Thursday, and as a bonus you get to tee off against Gil Meche!

3. Now now, don't step on us Mariners fans too hard on Opening Day

It was a good game today, even though the Mariners lost. My expectations aren't really high for them this year, but on Opening Day, EVERYBODY is full of hope!

5. I actually liked a lot about what I saw today.

Johjima looks in command and his bat was up to Bartolo Colon. I don't think there's any more question on him.

Betancourt and Lopez are having good at bats. Reed flashed an extra base hit. Despite the walk, Sherrill looked sharp and healthy. Great to see a pinch hit HR from the bench.

The only minuses were how bad Sexson and Beltre hit. Sexson had some decent at bats, but Beltre looked eerily like last year's model. And Putz's outing was, obviously, a bummer. The kid is just going to have to start throwing that curveball. He needs an out pitch bad. Hargrove also managed poorly, but that's not terribly unusual.

I feel real good about tomorrow, although you never know with Pineiro.

It's like they all think they have to hit a grand salami when they get to the plate. Um, dudes, no you don't. Get a base hit, get 1-2 runs in.

I feel good about tomorrow too, but we'll have to see if the Good Joel or the Bad Joel shows up!
