2. The "Young Ones"? What's that?
It looks like a British version of Troma films.

3. British comedy, early 80's
MTV used to run it.

Its in the same vein as "French and Saunders" and "Absolutely Fabulous", but a little more crude.

4. EXTREMELY crude....
With guest shots by British post punk (?) bands.

I love The Young Ones!

5. About the guest bands....
They brought the bands on because it meant more money to make the show.

The BBC provides a budget for programmes based on what type of show it is. By having a weekly musical guest, the show was considered "variety", and not "sit com", which entitled it to a higher budget.

7. The way they incorporated the bands into the episodes was great as well...

Didn't they have Dexy's Midnight Runners playing in the bathroom in one episode?

8. And the Damned did a song *specifically for* the episode.
I'm in love with a video nasty, indeed.
