American Idol Country night tonight
Edited on Tue Apr-04-06 11:52 AM by DanCa
I watch my 13 year old niece on Tuesdays and she just told me to get the pizza and pop ready. Why do I think that it's not going to be a good night for my heart burn. :D Ah well thankfully Boston Legal well be on later to counter balance it.:D

21. The big problem with Bucky's number
the first few bars he sang were unintelligible. I couldn't understand any of the words he sang!

7. Not a great night tonight
Edited on Tue Apr-04-06 08:26 PM by mvd
I wanted to post on DU long enough tonight to put my evaluation. Song choices were not very good except for Chris's, Kellie's, Paris's, and Bucky's. And Kellie didn't do all that well anyway. Chris, the rocker, actually had the best performance of the night. Here are my quick ratings:

Ace Young: 7/10
Bucky Covington: 7/10
Chris Daughtry: 9/10
Elliott Yamin: 4/10
Katharine McPhee: 7/10
Mandisa: 7/10
Paris Bennett: 8/10
Taylor Hicks: 5/10
Kellie Pickler: 6/10

8. I am rooting for Chris
although I've only seen AI once this year.

I just think he is really cute. Didn't have a bad voice the one time I did watch though! :hi:

10. I agree with you on Chris.
He really did need to show another side to his music. Also, you're right about Kellie. It sounded like she was singing off key.

Taylor was a little disappointing. He always seems so "alive" in his performances but not tonight.

14. Argh! Spoiler alerts, PLEASE!
It doesn't come on for another half-hour on the west coast.

Sad to hear it was disappointing, because last week really bit.

18. No worries.
I realized what I was looking at before I learned anything from your post.

Besides, it's just a TV show.

Cheers!

11. Why do they always have a country night? How about a rap or hip hop night?
Ugh. I hate country music.

13. Katharine McPhee should take some of the edge off.
When she's good, she's very, very good. And when she's not, she's still a hottie.

19. Another crappy show
They all ranged from outright boring to meh. There is great country music out there, unfortunately it was either butchered or ignored tonight.

Taylor is my favorite ,but he was awful. That's not an earthquake, that's John Denver spinning in his grave.

Chris had a much needed change of pace. Unfortunately he was boring and his voice is medicore. Overrated.

Kellie annoys me ,but she did alright tonight.

Paris was better this week and that's about it.

Elliot was alright ,but his vibrato was almost goat-like.

Mandisa was awful. Everything. Including her clothes.

Katharine was okay. She lacks the spunk for that type of song though. I think she is talented ,but too pageanty and polished.

Ace is absolutely awful. He should have gone home weeks ago. Hopefully, this is his week to go.

Bucky had the best of the night, but it was still a shade of meh. It is Bucky's best preformance to date.

And Kenny Rogers looked so exicted to be there. And who could blame him?! This has to be the worst AI cast ever.

Unfortunately, this show is like crack and I can't stop watching.

22. Well..
Tonight I thought Chris showed potential again. I'm glad he did a song that was miles away from generic rock.

Mandisa has such a good voice that she's never awful IMO.

I like Ace more than most here. He doesn't have to ALWAYS get a falsetto part in, though.

And I think Katharine does have the spunk for that song. It was just a terrible song.

20. Song selections were just sucky...
since just about all the song selections sucked, what is the repetoire these singers are choosing their songs from?

25. Kenny Rogers has been rendered unrecognizable from plastic surgery.
If it weren't for his distinctive voice, I wouldn't have had a clue who he was.
