Has anyone seen the film "The Weatherman"?
Did you like it? I hated it but I'm wondering if I missed the joke or something?

Apparantly the filmmakers thought the script was really funny and touching. I was just annoyed.

1. I have seen it.
We watched it last week. I thought it sucked big time. I probably missed something about it as well, that was 2 hours of my life I can't get back.

2. I remember hating all the characters
I don't think that's a good thing! And I didn't find anything funny or interesting about it...it was just annoying.

3. I actually thought it was funny; I liked it.
Hated "The Squid and the Whale", though. And the back of the dvd said "The Weather Man" was rather like "About Schmidt", which I despised almost like no other.
I like Michael Caine a lot, and usually like Nicolas Cage.

4. I normally hate Nick Cage movies

I find his acting to be almost as bad as Keanu Reeves. But I loved The Weatherman. I don't know why, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Watched it multiple times, actually.

5. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would
It was sold as a silly comedy, but in actuality it was a story about dealing with middle age and the knowledge that we won't end up where we wanted to be in life.

I didn't used to like Nicholas Cage but he's been in some very good films (Lord of War, Matchstick Men, this) and he's gotten away from things like City of Angels, thank God.

6. I think the Weatherman can be called a "movie" not a "film"
:)
