Claremore, OK (AHN) - The former wife of country music singer Garth Brooks is kidnapped by gunpoint.
The Claremore Daily Progress reports that her abductor, Quintine Cornelius Harper, 28, was caught near Owasso, Oklahoma.
According to Rogers County Undersheriff Barry Lamb, Harper allegedly used a semi-automatic gun to force Sandy Brooks to drive him away from authorities.
Lamb says, "He forced her under duress and threatened her to drive him off the property... She drove him into Tulsa County on Highway 20 where she fled and ran into a convenience store.”
Brooks then called police from the store and Harper fled the area on foot.
Bondsmen from Tulsa County who were searching for Harper chased him and fired a "noisemaker" shot.
They caught him and he was arrested on a Tulsa County warrant pertaining to his failure to appear for a hearing involving embezzlement charges.
Brooks was unharmed during the abduction.
