I don't have a cogent opinion on the Cynthia McKinney case and don't know enough to form an opinion about illegal immigration (except that a lot of poor folks are suffering). Someone equated being a Republican with pedophilia. I ask for proof and I'm told to "google"...alrighty then.

It seems like people are awfully willing to form an unbending opinion when they don't have enough facts. I feel I don't have enough facts on these and other issues and would like to reserve my opinion. Meanwhile, people are having flamewars.

It just depresses me, okay?

That's all I need is to have my religious buttons pushed. :) Hehe. I'm pretty tender in that area, still, and it comes out wrong a lot of the time. I try to keep from being a shithead, but the pain fundamentalism caused me is sometimes redirected at the religious. Sometimes they deserve it; sometimes they don't. It's confusing. I sometimes feel I should let lifelong atheists make my case because I was too wounded by being raised in a fundy bubble.

My mother has been taking Spanish classes. I think her fundy church plans on assaulting Mexico or Costa Rica sometime in the near future. (I have reasons to fear for those two countries, specifically.) There's no other explanation for her sudden interest in learning. She abhors knowledge for the sake of knowledge. :(

I hope I'm not dragging Religion / Theology into the lounge, but I have a lot of trouble with fundy missionaries. My mind was came up with the phrase "lowest form of life" when contemplating them earlier. That's pretty bad. :( My mother's religion fucked up her only two kids and now she's going to foist it on some poor, unsuspecting Spanish-speaking people. It just pisses me off. :(
