TWINS WIN! TWINS WIN!
With an awesome display of power...13-4

Three Home Runs, Torri Hunter hits a Grand Slam!!!

Course as usual Brad Radke can't get out of the first inning without giving up a couple runs...but why quibble?!

1. Yes indeed
I hope they did not use up their April offense!

Your discs are in the mail and should be there by Friday!

2. Thanks KW...
For doing that for me....

I'd say we are looking at a 161-1 record this year....don't see them losing another...;-)

5. It started out a little uneasy...
With Radke getting his usual beating in the first, but it sure righted quickly. It was nice to see some power for once.

Consdering how good the Central is going to be this year, they're going to need nights like this.

6. Twins need an early inning reliever...
For the nights Radke pitches...

Seems he can never get out of the first without getting tattooed. I say bring in Liriano the first two innings , and have Brad pitch the last eight!

13. Liriano looked absolutely sick.
He's going to be something else.

15. And if Baker pans out...
Though he got rocked in the last Spring Training game...

Still...Twins are stocked at pitching for a while. Two Santanaesque pitchers on one staff....

I hope Radke changes his mind about retiring...he still has some good stuff (except in the first inning)

16. I agree about Radke...
My wife doesn't like him. She thinks all he does is give up dingers and throw meatballs in the first inning. But I think it's hard to find a pitcher that gives up NO walks, has a WHIP in the lower 1.20's, and has decent durability throughout his career. Any major league baseball team would love to have him on their squad. Maybe not as a first or second starter, but he's one hell of a number 4 starter.

Santana, Radke, Silva, Liriana, Lohse and Baker...that's six good pitchers.

18. Just looking at that list testifies to Terry Ryan's genius...

Santana...Rule 5 draftee

Silva...trade for Milton

Liriano...in the Pyrzinski (sp) deal that...oh by the way...brought Joe Nathan over too

Lohse...Aguilera trade to the Cubs

Baker...Drafted...

7. Weird stat!
The Twins are the only team that has not had a single 30 HR guy since 1987.

9. They are gonna have 4 this year...
My prediction:

Four of these 6 will reach that mark

Mauer, Morneau, White, Hunter, Batista, and Stewart.

10. I think you are likely right!
I hope Morneau truly is one of them. He still looks like a deer in the headlights at the plate.

12. I know, that's so odd.
That ballpark is extremely homer friendly too. Must be the small ball mentality.

I predicted two years ago that Morneau would hit 40 within the next 5 years. I hope I'm right. ALthough he looks lost up there again this year. Down and away...strike three.

Hunter hit 29 and was an all-star in 2001 I think. Unless Morneau has a serious increase in patience at the plate, I think Torii has the best chance to break that streak.
