It's not like any of them knocked it out of the park but I think she was universally panned while everyone else got at least one positive comment.

It's possible that Hicks was panned across the board but he's been consistent while Mandisa has been shaky lately.

Mandisa, had probably the most extensive musical training of all of the others put together. I think she had a BS in music from Fisk University, and had given recitals.

She had her act together every damn week!!

Which goes to show you, AI is not about talent and substance, but looks, and personality.

In comparison when Kellie Picker flubbed that Stevie Wonder week, did she make the bottom three? Hell no...

On the bright side, I think there is a record contract waiting for Mandisa. She will be back.

That statement simply doesn't explain how Rueben or Fantasia won the trophy if looks were the primary factor. Besides, the public's had several opportunities to vote her off if it was strictly about looks.

Simply, Mandisa had a weak performance this time around. If memory serves, she was the only one universally panned by the judges.

If there's one primary failing to AI it's that the elimination always comes down to how the performers did that particular week and doesn't factor in past performance.

Someone can be pulling in top votes for weeks in a row. However, if they have a particularly bad night compared to everyone else they can easily be voted out over others who have been bottom dwellers from the word go.

Not sure why they have to do elimination anyway. Why not just have the final 10-12 stay until the end and just track total cumulative votes over the course of the event? That way, one bad performance doesn't eliminate someone who's pretty good overall.
