Spam alert: Phishing scheme!

I just received, in my inbox, an email that looked like it was from eBay, telling me my bid was cancelled. The link took me to a site that looked like the login page for eBay, but it was a spoofed AOL.com domain.

Just wanted my friends in the Lounge to be aware.

1. I've gotten a couple of them from PayPal, too.

And Chase-Manhattan is telling me my account has been corrupted. Funny thing is, I don't have an account with them. :evilgrin:

The e-bay thing they'd like reported, so they can track them down. Just forward a copy to them.

This one was different...in that it told me that a bid had been cancelled.

3. I'm really backing off the net lately...even to review a cable account

or something. Just not worth it. And after reading an article in today's times about how your the nature of personal data online...I am weaning myself off the web for any sort of important thing.

5. I've gotten TONS of them. Look inthe URl for CGI and you'll

know its a scam.Same goes for the PAypal spams
