Evie, Socrates and Plato were the size of their heads when we rescued them from the literal brink of death. Five years on, they're big (especially the boys), healthy, and sassy.

 :woohoo:

15. They are, aren't they?
Of course, I'm biased, but they were cute when they were tiny and they stayed that way.

:)

17. Thanks for taking the time!
The kitties had a very nice day, although I was made to feel I was ripping them off by not serving lobster at breakfast. At least that's the telepathic impression I got...I don't think they know what lobster actually is. :D

4. They look happy and healthy - way to go!
Charlie will be two this summer: we plucked him from the middle of a bridge during rush hour!

18. Awwwww!
Charlie looks so happy...thanks for rescuing him!

All of our cats are rescues. Plato and Socrates would have died from flea anemia if we hadn't found them when we did, and the s.o. liberated Evie from under a cinderblock the next day. They were about 5 or 6 weeks old when we rescued them. It's been all good ever since. :)

19. I saw those photos before
And your kitties are splendimous! Binky and Plato definitely have some interesting genes in common...

I have to ask: who's the handsome tabby? Because if I didn't know better, I'd think you borrowed Caesar for the weekend.

Caesar, my oldest, has been with me for 13 years next month, and will be 15 next Labor Day.

6. Happy Birthday!!! The best (well one of) things about kitties is
that brothers and sister kittens can look so different. But, they all have the same "It wasn't me!!" eyes. ;)

Thanks for sharing. They are adorable.

21. Those are their mama's eyes
Their mom was a tiny little calico named Hazard. We're pretty sure their dad is Imhotep, who moved in with us last year when we decided we had to take him with us (and another one of his daughters, Neutrino, hence the astronomical cat count of 7 - we already had Neutrino's brother Quark).

Their eyes change colors, but I've never seen them in the middle of changing. Sometimes Socrates has green eyes. Sometimes Evie has dark gold eyes. Plato's eyes go from straw yellow to medium gold. It's weird. :)

And thank you for providing them with a happy life. Plato looks exactly like my first cat, Schäggli, who was my companion for my first 16 years.

22. Thank you!
One of Socrates' nicknames is Herr Snoschou. :) He just sort of looked european just then, adn the nickname stuck.

They provide me with a happy life as well, believe me!

23. Part of the cat-proofing is practically no window treatments
 They know to stay away from the few curtains we have, but they get snagged nightly in the velcroed mosquito door netting we have at the entrance of the atrium. :D

26. Thank you!
They seem to wear it well...I remember carrying the three of them in two hands held against my chest when they were babies. Nowadays, I almost need a forklift to pick up the brothers . Evie is a healthy 11 lbs, but her brothers are, er, a tad larger. Plato weighs about 18 lbs, and Socrates tips the scales at almost 20 lbs. Their vet swears up and down they're not fat, just long, wide, and tall. :D

12. They're beautiful.
I only know the birthdate for one of my three, because the other two were rescued when they were already adults.

I still pick a day at random every spring to give them big hugs and sing happy birthday too them. They indulge me. :)

27. I know their exact birthdate because
I was in Denver on a business trip when I called home on Friday the 5th to tell the s.o. I'd be back the next day, and Hazard (momcat) was still as wide as a barge, according to the s.o. The next day, she came to greet me when I drove in from the airport, and she had regained her girlish figure :).

I could backtrack Quark's and Neutrino's birthday, because I have timestamped digital shots. It's in late June. Caesar and Imhotep have approximate birthdays, and neither seems to mind in the least.

They pigged out happy at dinner: tuna and egg, one of their all-time favorites. Right now they're out in the atrium working on their post-prandial moon tan. :)
