Pirates of the Caribbean was a pleasent surprise.

11. Funny Thing in the DVD

I saw the movie in the theatre when it came out, loved it. Later, I stole a friend's two teenage boys as an excuse to go see it again before it closed (no, I am not Michael Jackson).

Anyways, what was hysterical about the DVD was when I went to view it with Verbinski / Depp commentary, Disney had a disclaimer screen with "the opinions expressed in this .. do not necessarily relfect the views of management, etc."

I haven't seen one of those since the 1970s and thinks it's funny/sad that Mickey is SOOOO afraid of RW zealots who got pissed off about Johnny Depp's politics that they had to put that on. (Depp's comments are harmless, here, btw.)

common, the disclaimer thing. I would expect to see that more frequently as commentaries on DVDs are ever more common. Personally, I love hearing what people have to say about their experiences making film.

And I think somebody should invite Johnny to DU. He'd feel right at home here.

This is one of my favorite movies of the year! Depp's Sparrow was was based on Keith Richards and Pepe Le Pew, and you have to love it!

We ran out and bought it full price, the moment it came out this week.

I just saw the movie last night too for the first time. Depp was great, as was the rest of the cast! I wish I would have seen it in the theatres--but I was kinda snobby about it. ("Oh, it can't be as good as the hype is, etc.")
