and this was to be THE NIGHT that I would not SLEEP until Skittles was nabbed, finally (at 18 months of age! she defies capture and so defies sterilization!) and safely tucked away in a cat carrier, ready for the trip to the clinic in the morning.

THAT LITTLE EIGHT-POUND FURBALL OF HORMONES GOT OUT OF THE HOUSE! She's out there now looking for some big ol' hangin' boy to knock her up! Ooooooooh, when I get my hands on her....

There are two hopes: 1. that she comes running to the back door, trying to get in. That's only a valid hope if I can stay awake. 2. that she goes into one of my traps.

AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I may lose my mind if I never get her fixed, if I see her bring a litter around here... :banghead:

She was quite the escape artist before that. She sat by the door and practically begged all the neighborhood cats to break her out.

It has to be now because I got time off of work to do this. I can't run a TNR day and go to work - this is the only low-cost clinic I know of and I can't drop & pick up cats AND go to work.

10. They always are.

Our Tortie likes to find new places to sleep, so we tear the house apart looking for her. And then she comes wandering out an hour later with this "were you looking for me look" on her face.

11. For weeks -- WEEKS -- she has been asleep on the bed when I come in

from work, and she has allowed me to pet her. And for weeks I have put more and more pressure on her body when I pet her, preparing her for the day when I put enough weight down on her to trap her against the bed so she can't move and I can grab her. This was my plan for this evening.

And this is the evening she picks to go find someplace new to sleep?! She didn't even come running to the sound the chain on the laser pointer makes and that NEVER fails to get her!

I didn't know this about torties.

I'm going to go sleep for three hours. Then bait traps. Then figure out how to catch that furry little wench.
