21. There are gulls in every state
But there is no such thing as a seagull.

You have Ring-Billed and Herring Gulls there.

9. Parrots are adorable
Did you know that an archaeologist once found what looks like a beak from a parrot that lived during the time of the dinosaurs? Of course, more study is needed, but it boggles the mind.

Dinosaurs didn't eat parrots...

Parrots ate the dinosaurs... out of house and home anyway.

11. Birds are scary
They scare the daylights out of me. Might have something to do with my grandparents letting us watch The Birds when I was nine then a bird got into our bedroom that night. That finished me off.

14. I had a mockingbird attack me once in a parking lot.
I passed too close to the tree that had its nest in it. And once, while fishing on the beach on Sanibel Island, an enormous bird swooped in and snatched up the 12in bass I had just unhooked from my line and flew away with it. Scared the bejeezus out of me.

13. Me too! That is why I was terribly upset when one of my
dogs caught and mortally wounded a Robin in my back yard. It really broke my heart! And we had a time getting the bird from him. He had a lethal grip on it!

20. It really was! We almost had kill the bird b/c it was still
alive, but then my dog jumped up and grabbed it out of my husband's hands and gripped it hard with his teeth. It made me sick. Why are animals sometimes sooo mean? That cute little bird didn't do anything to deserve that. I don't know if it is instinctual for some dogs to do that, or if I have an asshole of a dog! And what can you do to a dog that is acting on instinct?

16. I have been frequently attacked by birds
and if you don't believe me, ask 1gobluedem. I had one get into my apartment and rustle through my hair while I was sleeping; then he moved in for a day. I finally got him out using my drying rack draped with towels and an umbrella in front of me. I was then pecked in the head walking to the mall, attacked by a pigeon while eating at an outside restaurant, and most recently, assaulted as I walked home from the bus last year. That bird nearly drove me into the oncoming traffic on the street.

Cute and sweet? Ha!

25. I love birds too !
I sadly have to pick up the cremated remains of our beloved
parakeet tomorrow. We had on her plaque "Lady Bird - the
Amazing Poopakeet".

We still have our tiel, Piper. All our animals are rescues.
Both keets lived 11 years, although Albert died young because
he had cancer.

I get in trouble all the time for feeding the birds at work.
I give them birdseed.
