when you work in the ER the LAST thing you want to see

you could probably use that to help identify medical problems in children or elderly who can't speak. Some people are like that emotionally as well. They can feel emotional pain. It is an interesting phenomena. :hug:

me too,,,,turned out he had not "moved his bowels" in who knows how long...his mother (divorced from my brother) is VERY nonchalant about diets and ...well I could go on about her neglect but I won't...


May I just say that you would be surprised how many people present to the ER with this very same problem!!!!




surely!!! and, I will use this thread for educating the public (not that this bunch of brainiacs need it;))everyone knows that their bowels need to move at LEAST every 48- 72 hours



and PLEASE try something over the counter BEFORE you come to the ER


you would be AGHAST at how many people present to the ER with a headache and have NOT even takenthe first tylenol!!!

10. Oh man! That's awful.

I work in a hospital but thankfully not in a clinical area.
I'd be too afraid of seeing what you saw.

On a related note, I had to go to the ER and was
admitted because of that bowel thing. However, I
had just had surgery for ovarian cancer and the tumor
had burst (abusive ex). They basically had to take
my intestines, put them on the table next to me
and squeegee them. When they put them back in, well
you know that nothing ever fits right when you
take it out of its original container!

So, I had a crimp and I know exactly how
badly your nephew felt. Poor baby - I'm so
glad he's better.

38. Aw, I'm sorry to hear that.

I had to go to therapy a lot in order to change my ways.
I grew up in an abusive environment, so abusive men just seemed
normal to me. After tons of therapy, I wound up marrying my best friend of several
years. He's 300 lbs and 6'2", has ADHD, and there are several issues. However,
it is abundantly clear that he loves me unconditionally.

but when I was in the ER after a head-on collision they almost fainted when they saw me.

All the medical training in the world cannot remove the love and concern of those we love. I'm glad to hear he's ok. I can't even imagine how hard that was.
