New plumbing, bath, kitchen. Ok, so the tax return only covered a portion of that.

5. estimated taxes for next year
At least we don't have to pay estimated taxes until September now! Balance will go to bills. Bummer! I hardly ever get to spend on big, fun stuff. I need a new mattress too, at least I think it might help me sleep better! New glasses would be fun too, I'm sick of mine! Have you picked out the glasses and the bed?

6. You mean my refund?
The return is the thing I filed with the IRS. :D

It was our first tax refund in five years. Most of it went into the bank, but we did treat ourselves to new patio furniture.

12. I got back a total of about $400 this year
from my local, state, and federal returns. I just put it in the bank. Usually, I get a larger refund than that, but I sold an IRA early and I had to pay taxes and a penalty on that.

according to state law i need some certificate signed by a physician that I am rubella free so i need to go to the doctor. part of the tax return will pay for that (no insurance), and the license, and the partying afterwards... and no idea what else. probably music. possibly an acoustic bass.
