Good Saturday Morning, Crew!

I'm happy to be serving as your Guest Host this week while Clintmax is on his very well deserved vacation. :bounce: I want to thank him for asking me to sub for him while he's gone. :loveya:

I went to my FIL's 75th birthday party on Friday night. It was a lot of fun, and there was a lot of REALLY GOOD food there! :woohoo: The picture at the top of the post was one I took this evening from my BIL's back deck. It looks out over Puget Sound. The first bit of land you see on the other side of the water is Vashon Island; the mountains in the background are the Olympics. Beautiful, huh?

So what do you all have planned for this weekend? For me, I have to work, but since I am home-based, I can also watch baseball, especially my Mariners :loveya: .

The song for today is "Misty" by Johnny Mathis, because I'm feeling loved, and feeling the love! :loveya: :loveya: :loveya:

A bit drunk as well.

You might have seen me in the odd thread, making a nuisance of myself ;) but I've been on DU for more than a year now.

Here's wishing you success with the 'Good Morning' thread. :toast:

9. Morning SeattleGirl!
I'm back in the lounge!
(Just had to email the first part of the meaning of life to someone, I put it in some lounge thread I'd tell if PM'ed about it)

How are you? How is America?
I see you've kept the fine Clintmax tradition of having a 'song of the day' I've never heard of.

15. Clint and I had loooooong discussions on how to find that music.
Finally, Rhapdody dot com....... after all that time.... so I look around, find 'Miss American Pie' that Don McLean song... click, and it goes "You are outside of America (a.k.a Fuck OFF)"
So so much for that.

btw, no curiosity about the meaning of life? tsk, tsk.... Americans. Do you know about ~66% don't believe global warming will affect them?

meh. It can't such a bad place with DU in it! ;).

I'm sorry you couldn't access it! x(

Not all American's have no curiosity about the meaning of life. As far as your 66% stat, unfortunately, you are correct. Sometimes things don't really get to people until it directly effects them.

And the world is definitely a better place with DU in it! :bounce:

23. All right:
Donald Rumsfeld is giving the President his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, three Brazilian soldiers were killed."

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands.

Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

-------------------------------------------
Isn't that sooooooooooooooooo funny? I just knew you'd enjoy it.

heh heh heh.

Anyway, a real joke:

A Bhuddist walks up to a hot dog vendor and says 'Make me one with everything'

or the lounge. Can't talk about it on a public forum though. Actually, I did yesterday but still...

Are you one for pranking your fellow DU'ers?

Whenever I can, I do, personally.

Did you realise that they're putting into law that Christian Faith is the cornerstone of the 'U.S. Moral System'?

Of course you didn't. I made it up just now.

But yes, not any funny stories today, yet.

I DID manage to get 9.44 kilograms of shopping for $25.45, which is pretty good. Carrying that load a mile hurt though.

Except this one troll. Did he get wigged or what? I kept saying 'Got Milk?'.

Anyway, here's a social psychology experiment for you to participate in, I'll reply to this post with one from yesterday's thread. Just reply like I'd not said this.

34. Actually, the Athiest/Agnostic forum found this whacko
site that claimed, for instance, looking at women in 'that way', even if you aren't married equals adultery.

All ten commandments were like that, but I still scored 3/10 (No, I wasn't innocent of his adultery clause ), next week 4/10, and if his statements weren't contradictory, I could get 5/10.

Considering that the guy behind it is also known as Captain Wack McWierd, Leitenant of the WhatTheFuckIsHeGibberingAbout corps, to get that score you have to be an angel. Who looks at tits.

18. Good morning! I haven't gone to bed yet, so is it really morning?
I know it's getting light outside, but I haven't gone to bed yet. I always feel you need to sleep in order for the new day to start. Through this logic, I once had a Tuesday that lasted until Friday. You know what sucks after that...finally falling asleep in a physically painful, hallucinatory state and having a fire drill in your dorm. Complete with strobe light and siren approximately 1' from your head.

22. Yeah, it was ridiculous.
It was school/work/chemical induced. I can do 48 hours without sleep easy, no outside help, but that was really pushing it. I just have bizarre sleep patterns and I've had them my whole life. My one friend referred to it as having a "binge/purge" sleeping disorder, as in go for three weeks sleeping 2 hours a night and then sleep for 20 hours one day. Wash rinse repeat.

I love to giggle with my DU friends. I've done a lot of that recently. First with Sugar Smack (who really is the sweetest person), swimboy and mr.swim are so totally positive and up-beat (we all laughed out loud together over supper) and being here with JJ is starting to feel a little bit like home.

I'll pass on the hug and smoochies. I think I hear little feet moving around. :) But I'm not smelling any coffee yet.

Yummy, that breakfast was good. :9 I'm so full I can hardly move. But the house and yard beckon. I'm learning about Murphy's Law when it comes to house-selling. If I leave the pet blankets off the sofas, no one comes. But the MINUTE I put them back on, the phone rings. Works that way with cleaning -- don't swiffer the floors and they're coming in 10 minutes. Make the house sparkle, and it keeps them away for days. So I have to ask myself, "Do I want someone to come today or do I want to be left alone?"

I'm glad my first stint is on a Saturday! It's 5:30 here, and I'm so very, very tired, so I am retiring for awhile.

For any of you who post after this, I wish you a pleasant good evening, and will respond to your posts once I've gotten som sleep.

Good night, my lovelies! :loveya: :loveya: :loveya:

66. I can tell. Your posts make as much sense as a drugged out
hippie hamster in a tumble dryer through a voice sythesizer built from a chicken in a vacuum cleaner.

;) just kidding.
Nighty Night Bo-tingles!

Sleep well!

69. Hi SeattleGirl
:hi:

I've always loved 'Misty'. Your pic is beautiful and I hope someday to see that part of the U.S.
My big plans are going to Indy to buy my new car and then to pickup the grandson and keep him overnight to give Mom and Dad a break and a well deserved evening alone. :)
