Ladies over the age of 40:
I am feeling stuck in the seventies lately, and am not sure why...but, here are some cool things I found:

Note the "Moon Cult" article in this one:

5. My dear Peggy,

I'm sitting here with Jimmy Jazz and her two beautiful little girls. It's raining on this part of the east coast making our original plans for today impossible. JJ and I are going out for a while later on this evening. :)

Is California dealing with liquid sunshine or the real stuff today?

Please say hi to JimmyJazz for me, would you? I sure do miss her...

You hear me, Miss JJ? Come back, would you?

Sorry to hear about the rain! Today we have the sun that California is so famous for....

And it's about time, too!

Have fun tonight!

;)

You know what makes me feel old with a capital "o?" Going to the American History museum on the mall in DC, and looking at the kitchen utensils.

Yep....you got it. My mother, and now I...still use the SAME FLIPPING ONES.

How can they be antiques if we still use them???

8. LOL...I wondered how many women would remember that ad
The other one that I remember so well (besides Short n Sassy, and Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific) was the Agree Shampoo commercial with a long haired hippie looking chick in the mountains--the caption read:

Greasy Jeans are OK...Greasy Hair is Not!

I really miss some of the stuff from the seventies, and don't really remember when it just sort of faded away.

13. omg, it was!
How funny is that!

The number one thing I really miss is the cosmetic stuff---I loved some of those old perfumes that weren't so damned complicated like they are today---love's baby soft, and the coty stuff that was solid (photo in original post) "Sweet Earth."

The other thing I miss....but, I am not going to miss it for long...are those phones that were nailed into the wall; the ones that were so heavy you could beat the hell out of an intruder with, then continue your conversation. I have one, and by God, it dials too. I just need to get a new cord put into it, and I will be good to go.

Heh...and I've got a few 'antique' kitchen gadgets that I use, too. I've got a potato ricer that looks like some kind of dark ages torture device...but it works.

63. The old Mudd face mask...
When it came in plastic jars.

I have NO idea how much of that stuff I used in High School.

Skinny Dip cologne. I HATED that stuff, but a lot of people I knew wore it.

Flushable maxi pads. Eeeew. Those were not the best product I ever used. Great idea, but terrible performance. Maybe they'd do better now--I dunno. Felt like the cover was made with cheap toilet paper.

Stuff I have not thought of in YEARS. Also stuff that I really don't miss terribly--except the Mudd face mask--that did work.
