1. The real threat of free internet downloads.

The internet risks taking away the record companies' main avenue for extorting artists. If an artist can become known and gain success without the record companies then they won't be able to charge huge fees and keep most of the profits from CD sales. The illegal download preaching isn't about downloaders stealing from musical artists, its about the recording industry defending their current practice of stealing from artists.

4. Spring has sprung.

We got 3 inches of rain the other day. The worms and salamanders are breaking into houses to keep from drowning! Clay soils and a basic desert up here; that much rain at once is NOT a good thing. Interstate opened up an 80x30 foot hole.
