...as well as Texas Chainsaw Massacre and other films. "Buffalo Bill" from "Silence Of The Lambs" is said to most resemble the real-life story of Gein.

WAUSAU, Wis. -- The property that was once home to the serial killer who inspired the movie "Psycho" is up for sale for $250,000. Mike Fisher inherited Ed Gein's 40 acres in central Wisconsin from his grandfather. Fisher listed it on eBay and had 1,200 hits as of Friday. Fisher said he's been stuck with a "white elephant" and added that he has the right to ask whatever he wants for the land.
Andy Kahan, a crime victim advocate in Houston who tracks serial killer memorabilia, said it's just another piece of land without Gein's name attached to it. Kahan said Fisher is wrong to try to "hook a higher price"
Gein was arrested in 1957 when a headless body was found hanging at his farm home. Investigators also found parts of other bodies. They concluded Gein had robbed graves and may have murdered other people.
He was sent to a mental hospital, where he died in 1984.
