I'm obsessed...

with our current political situation. I'm seeing parallels everywhere. I watched the movie Serenity again tonight here's a quote:

The captain of the ship to his crew of fugatives, thieves, ex-rebels etc (you know the kind of crew I'm talking about even if you're not familiar with this show...rag tag misfits that've just happened to find themselves together - Kinda like America if you think about things the way I do anyway ;) ) "...You all got on this boat for different reasons, but you all come to the same place. So now I’m asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything I know this, they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, 10, they’ll swing back to the belief that they can make people . . . better. And I do not hold to that. So no more running. I aim to misbehave."


So here's how my current events obsessed mind heard this:

"You all got on this boat for different reasons, but you all come to the same place."
We all have our own ideas of what this nation is about, as a nation some of us were for the war in Iraq some where against (ok most of us) but we're all faced with the same situation right now, it's a responsibility that belongs to us all now.

"So now I’m asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything I know this, they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean."
If we don't do something it's gonna happen again.

"..they’ll swing back to the belief that they can make people ...better"
Republicans in power now are more concerned with legislating who we are and how we live our lives than running the government effectively.

"And I do not hold to that. So no more running. I aim to misbehave."
It's time to do something!
