Has Steven Spielberg gone Tom Cruise crazy?
So Steven Spielberg and Mark Burnett (Survivor, The Apprentice) are joining forces and creating a new reality television show (because that's what we need in America, more reality TV) where contestants compete against one another for the right to direct a film. The show is expected to air next summer and will follow the format of American Idol, where contestants are voted off by a voting public and critiqued by a panel of judges. Hopefully there will be no fat naked guys, secret alliances and Trump product placements, but who knows.

Here's the link:

Is it me or is Spielberg scraping the bottom of the barrel here?

Hey Steven, you've got Academy Awards and $3 billion, why do you need to do this again?

1. Wasn't there already something like that - Project Greenlight
I've never seen it, only heard Lloyd Kaufman deliver a very angry and lengthy rant about how shit it was.

(Also did anyone else have that PC "game" Spielberg put his name to - "Director's Chair", where you had to make a movie starring Jennifer Aniston, Quentin Tarantino and Penn & Teller. (Only on my PC it always crashed in the edit suite so I never got to see the completed picture.)

2. Spielberg Needs To Put His Efforts.....
...into assuring that his next movie is the same quality as "Private Ryan," rather than "The Terminal." Why he's wasting time on a dubiously talented religious fanatic and yet another reality show is beyond me.....
