before and after

Bought this chair for $10.00 painted white. I through it in the shower covered it with oven cleaner and waaaaaaaaaaaaala stripped.

Next it went to the garage and got sanded stained
and varnished and recovered. Had to do something
with my daughters empty room.

Came out pretty good eh...for a ten dollar chair.

10. Do you know the year that it was made?
I'm fascinated by antiques, but I don't get to check into them much. I look at old furniture or coins or memorabilia and I wonder about previous owners and what life was like back when those things were made.

3. You and miz t. and our daughter would get along real good.
They salvaged a couple of really rotten old wing chairs and an ottoman from a deceased relative's house.
Recovered them and they look great.
My daughter says it's the "ultimate recycling".

Nice job and good on ya.

6. For ten bucks, pretty damned nice!
Of course, you might have just ruined a very rare $75,000 antique, but what the hell. The chance of that is pretty fucking small.

Nicely done!!

I'd love to know more about furniture restoration AND have a place and the tools to do it.

it's amazing the otherwise solid, good stuff that people throw out only because they don't want it anymore, or it has some stains and they think it ruined.

11. I'm always re-doing something.
If I ever get a small enough house I could completely do it in thrift store style.

However the house I have needed...huge peices of
furniture.
The bed however look at previous picture was my
first bed...25yrs ago that I dug out of my neighbors garbage who was throwing it out of his
garage rafters.
