Jessica Simpson is set to take over Pamela Anderson's role in the long-awaited big screen version of beach TV show Baywatch. The sexy singer is set to don the infamous red swimsuit adored by many fans of the popular lifeguard series when she plays CJ Parker, the role which launched Anderson to stardom. A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "Jessica really caught the eye in The Dukes Of Hazzard film last summer. She was the unanimous choice for the Baywatch role. Jessica has all the assets to make Pam's part her own." Producers hope David Hasselhoff will agree to star in the film in his original role as Mitch Buchannon.

I've never gone ga-ga over either, but Anderson had something about her at least... and, I don't just mean that she has a couple of cup sizes on Simpson. It may be her wild personal life that you can't separate from her screen persona. I don't know.

If Hasselhoff is invited, Anderson should be. I never watched Baywatch, but I don't imagine it's very deep acting. Probably more about looks. However, Jessica Simpson looks nothing like Pamela Anderson.

Plus, Pamela Anderson is not as dumb as Jessica Simpson. Not even close.

i'm not a pam fan, but she can at least talk relatively intelligently. And, as you say, simpson looks nothing like her. But the producers think "Blonde! Big boobs!" and that's as far as they get :eyes:

She is beautiful. She does not appear to the greatest thesbian, but I don't think roles like Daisy Duke or baywatch babe require a great deal of acting range, just a fabulous figure (which she certainly has).

I recall the early years of the NBC show Friends in which the Joey and Chandler characters appreciated the bounce that certain lifeguards (yasmine bleath, pam anderson, carmen electra, nicole eggert, erika elena (sp?)...) displayed while running in slow motion.
