Do you think I would get in trouble for wearing this shirt?
http://www.demockratees.com/endpoverty.htm

I'm a big supporter of ending poverty, and I love this shirt, but I'm wondering if the school (I'm in 10th grade) would get angry at me for wearing it. Personally I don't see anything wrong with it. It isn't advocating violence (Uncle Pennybags is only there for symbolism), and it is making a statement. On the other hand, I don't want to pay $20 so I can walk around all day with my shirt turned inside out...

What do you guys think?

1. do you have a way to look up the dress code for your school?
You might want to check either your school website or your district website to see what the dress code policy is.

4. This is from the code of conduct:
"Shall not promote and/or endorse the use of alcohol, tobacco or illegal drugs and/or encourage other illegal or violent activities."

That was the only item in the dress code that would get me in trouble and I serious don't think this shirt is encouraging anything violent. It is obviously just symbolism.

2. Might be considered to be too graphically violent
even if it is only a cartoon guy.

Would think that your right to Free Speech would be charged the $20.

Call the ACLU

6. Whiney people might try to claim
that you're advocating the killing of rich people. So it might not be a great idea to wear it in school. Outside of school it should be fine though.

14. What Buffy said
Too many school administrators are more worried about covering their own asses than letting intelligent students express themselves. I'd wear it, but I'd bring an extra shirt just in case they ask me to change.

7. I would not get it. It is a dead person even if the person is fake.
They probably would ask you to change.

13. At $16.50, somebody is makin' big bucks off of ya...
Saying the expression without the visual is far more tasteful, and doesn't incite violence. That graphic is straightforward, and it is graphic. :)
