"24" question--what will happen to Mrs Logan?
Edited on Mon Apr-10-06 11:06 PM by Arkham House
As the season goes on, I think that the First Lady is emerging as the protagonist of the show, almost as much as Jack Bauer himself...she's become the moral center of the show. How will it play out? Will she be the one to expose Logan? That seems to be what we're supposed to think, I'd guess...but I'm betting it'll be more of a situation where Logan feels he'll have to sacrifice her to ensure his own safety. But there's good old Aaron Pierce there to look after her, too...and a bond is definitely growing between them... My guess is that Logan will feel compelled to kill her, but Pierce will save her life, and they--with Jack's aid, of course--bring Logan down...

1. Hmmmm...good question and your analysis is interesting, too.
I'm completely hooked on this show.

Prez Logan seems to be playing pretty fast and loose, imo. He's going down....

:hi:

9. This weeks show was solid. A real nailbiter. That Chloe... is too much.

2. I don't think Logan will sacrifice her
I hate everything about the guy, but I think he still loves her very much and he will never hurt her... I might be wrong though.

3. can we edit for a spoiler alert?
"expose Logan" is a spoiler, and some people may be a few weeks behind w/ their Tivo.

5. It's amazing that both * and prez. Logan are being exposed simultaneously!
Bush with the Plame revelations, and now Logan in the last two weeks shows! They couldn't have scripted it any better. Is art reflecting reality, or reality reflecting art? Or neither in this case! Somehow, I don't think Laura will play the same role as Mrs. Logan will (unless they turn her into a Stepford wife, which would be hard to do in a 24 hour period...)...

7. Given that the basic plotline is probably set months in advance
I think it's just an amazing coincidence.

The creators have declared that Logan is based more on Nixon than anything else.

Besides, given the general way CTU runs and Jack Bauer attends to business since Season 1, I'd hardly call 24 a liberal's dream show.

The fact that Rush Limbaugh is a big fan and visits the set on occasion indicates that there's enough there for conservatives to approve of as well.

10. Bush and Rove were also big Babylon V fans too!
But I don't think J. Michael Straczynski had pleasing right wingers in his mind when he created that show and the other "parallel fiction Bush" in President Clark. Perhaps Jerry Doyle (Garibaldi) who's now a RW talk show host might have tried to appeal to RWers then, but that's about it.

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.info/browse_frm/thread/d8630fe108f7c4a/b4c07e8b3758420b?lnk=st&rnum=9#b4c07e8b3758420b

I think the second season of 24 was kind of overall an indictment of Bush's regime when you looked at other Washington forces trying to do battle with President Palmer then. Yes, the issues of torture are something that isn't exactly fitting here, but as many have noted, this show is more a fantasy in terms of last minute harrowing decisions being based in reality where torture would even be considered a necessary element.

Perhaps 24 will help serve to bring some RWers to their senses. If they are watching this show enough and finally see how an evil president can really come close to bringing this country down, perhaps some (not Limbaugh of course) will come to the realization of what kind of real danger we are in now with * being just as out of control as Logan is in the show.

8. Did anyone noticed the music played toward the end of the show?
Chloe is interrupting the satellite picture so Audrey can't be followed. The music sounded very 'James Bond-ish'. Just thought it was great. Chloe as secret agent, kicking ass and taking names.
I don't think they could get rid of Chloe any more than they could get rid of Jack.

It sounded just like a James Bond movie. I loved it!
