I am such a moran

This morning as I was driving to the petrol station, there was a nasty sound under my car, like I had driven over a very loose grate. Once I pulled up into the petrol station I went just to have a quick look at where I thought the sound came from. The left rear suspension spring was nestling down underneath the wheel. To compare, I looked at the left front wheel. Sure enough, the spring was above the wheel as you expect. OMG, I thought, my suspension is broken.

Funnily enough, the car was still running okay, but I heard from a friend that he once had a car with a broken spring, but didn't realise for ages, because it was being supported by the anti-rolling bar alone.

Anyway, I immediately turned around and headed off towards the dealer, gloomily wondering how much this would cost to fix.

Once I arrived at the dealer, I just had another quick look. Something in my mind told me to have a look at the other rear wheel for comparison.

It looked the same.

The suspension on the rear wheels is different to that on the front!! The spring is fine!

I drove off again, feeling foolish but glad that I hadn't gone in and asked them to look at it. :dunce:
