Nixonian vs Nixonesque -- Are they the same?

Does one have a more negative conotation over the other? Or is anything with "Nixon" in it considered to be negative, regardless?

1. I think they're the same

It's the same definition...someone who displays character traits similar to Nixon.

It's not a compliment. Bush...the current one...displays several Nixonian traits.

Nixonian has to do specifically with Nixon or his administration while Nixonesque would be Nixon like.

"Paranoia was a Nixonian characteristic."

"Bush current tap dance concerning the leak is Nixonesque."

Nixonesque would be in imitation or derivative of him.
