Poll question: Parents of the Lounge: when your kids were babies...
...did you kiss their toes? I'm asking because this friend of mine, who is a happily child-free lady, sometimes mentions that she kisses the toes of her nieces and nephews and...is this like, a thing? That parents and non-parents alike, apparently, do to babies? And have we as a society ever accrued any real, actual evidence that the babies even like that? Forgive the ramblings of another child-free person in early Spring, I'm just curious.

4. I think his ears taste better.
And I don't have to hold him upside down to get to his ears, so I nibble on those a lot. His toes don't get so much attention from me.

On the other hand, my son has developed a recent fascination with Mommy's toes... especially when one foot has a sock and one foot is without.

5. Oh, I wanted to devour my kids ... not just the toes.
My son had the chubbiest little thighs and I'd pretend to eat his "drumsticks." I wanted to nibble their little chubby arms and cheeks and little tushes ... everything. Lately I've been torturing my son (now nine) by showing him a photo of himself (looking plump and succulent) at six months and saying: "See -- you were my little baby nugget and I wanted to eat you!" Parents -- we're nuts, what can we say?

6. I'm just as nuts about my furry children, too.
My kitties had better watch it!

7. All the time.
Lord was she cute. Now when I try to kiss her little soft cheek, it's "stop, I can't breath, or, that's enough already. Ah, 10 year olds.

13. I told my kid to put a big rock on her head so she'd stop growing
and be my little baby. She thinks I'm crazy now, but I told her, you just wait till you have one of your own. She's going to pass me in about a year or so and I'll have to look up at her. Sigh.

9. Nope never did. There is this overwhelming feeling of love
that you want to express physically, holding, touching, kissing but I don't remember any desire to kiss toes.:-)

10. Oh, okay. So, I'm not the only person whose mind doesn't
automatically generate a desire to kiss toes whenever I see a mammal with toes.

mini-mammals. Fur is optional. ;)

14. YUK!! No way...
I have a 5, 2, and 8 month old.. NO WAY. Of course I have a foot phobia where I'm scared to death of feet.

15. Babies thrive with physical contact.
They want to be touched, kissed, rubbed, bounced, tickled, and bellybubbled all the time. Baby toes are perfectly clean, so I never had any problem kissing or playing with them either.
